Subject: Help with Textures, Bump Maps and Others

HAE_Inc ( ) posted Sun, 27 July 2003 at 5:52 PM · edited Sat, 01 February 2025 at 9:00 PM

**1. How do you know which files in the textures folder you change to a *.bum so they'll work or am I the only one who has to do that?
**2. Also, I am having trouble getting my texture maps to load for V3. When I try to load them, it asks me if i want to search for the file, and whether I click yes or no, after a short pause and no search dialog opening, the map isn't loaded even when I am in the texture shaded mode, what's happenin'?

Thanks

Might be better to go into the tex folder and see which jpg is in grey scale. I'm finding more and more files lately that just have a B in the name of the jpg. The reason your getting that message is because the bumpmap has not been converted yet. 1. select ground or select a box from the prop library. 2. goto Render > Materials. 3. click on Bump Map Load button. find the jpg you want to convert and load it. 4. Poser will ask if you want to convert, click YES. 5. Do this with all of V3 bump maps and the Mats will work right for you.

FYI-I couldn't see your post because of the black lettering of the html in your post. A lot of people have black set as thier background preference colour. Rebekah Garner Sixus1 Media

I can't see it either. Please don't change the colour of the text if you want people to be able to read it :o)

Excuse me? "Shut up?" Verbal attacks are not wanted nor allowed in this forum. Also, YOU do not own this forum and may not tell people they may post. I have an answer to EVERY question you have asked here: READ THE MANUAL!!!!!! And if you do not have the manual, go buy Poser, it comes with one.

My point was that you may get more responses of help if everyone could actually SEE your post. Good luck finding the answers to questions with that attitude. :) Rebekah Garner Sixus1 Media

All right, looks like berlyd gave the right answer to the original question as for the html ... we'd rather you didn't use HTML in the forums or gallery comments as it screws up the system. This thing has enough strain on it already I think ... The change to white background was relatively recent so many users, myself included, fled back to the black background where we are more comfortable. Also as a couple of people kindly commented already, we are kind of serious about the no personal attacks here. So please play well with others, okay? and that means EVERYBODY glares around thread and ziggie .. watch the language please grin Lyrra the Overworked (moderator)

Everyone take it easy, I'm not looking for trouble, just trying to learn how to use poser. I guess the "shut up" was a little excessive, and sorry, but still, you all don't have to fly off the handle for everything, I'm new, I don't really know all the nuances of the forum. Once again, I'm sorry and I hope we can all learn from my mistake and move on. I was a little upset when I posted that reply, my computer just froze and it wouldn't restart and I took it out of you guys, sorry. CHEERS HAE Inc. (Not a Bad Guy, Frequent Mistake Maker, sorry)

Hey... HAE Inc.... respect Man...! You have learnt already... many would have come back flaming... at least you have kept your cool and I can respect that. And... you had the guts to say sorry... that's not a word you see around here very often..! Yes... we all get a 'little' carried away at times I guess... must be the Artistic streak in us all LOL ziggie
