The P4 guy, straight out of the box, folks. No morphs, just one seriously good texture applied. Doncha love it when these "not in anyone's good graces" models come back in such style? :-)

Woooooooooooooooooooooow... What texture is THAT?! And where did you get it?!!!

Seriously great texture. He looks amazing.

sigh I always liked Dork and Posette, but for the 3d comic project I'm starting now I've gone to Mike and Vicki, mostly because there simply isn't any support anymore. Decent textures, clothes, etc. for the stock P4 figures are awfully hard to come by these days, especially since I'm strictly avoiding anything that can't be used commercially. As far as "Dork", that's mostly because of the fish-eye-lens effect of Poser's default Face Camera setting, which makes any figure look dorky. Adjust the camera properly and he looks fine. Add a quality texture and you've got a great figure. And he doesn't have breasts! YAY!;)

It's one of Catharina Harders old textures, I reckon it's called tommy muscle man textures or something :)

Good call, R-D. It's Tomy, done for Mike1. Sorry, folks, no distribution. :-)

That made me think... Has anybody ever remapped Dork to take Mike Textures?

I recognise her style immediately, I can always tell it's Catherina's no matter what

Ernyoka, I reckon aprilysh remapped mike to take p4 textures and a Dork to take michael's textures

A mish-mash of characters, morphs, hair, and textures (some better than others, obviously). For all of his morphs, getting this much variation out of Mike 2 is still a task. Traveler deserves a huge amount of credit for the vast piles of morphs he used to give away at Morphworld.:)

fauve ( ) posted Tue, 29 July 2003 at 4:29 PM

Ernyoka, AprilYSH remapped the Dork to take Mike textures. She did a great job, too! She also did a Posette remap for Vicki texs. Both figures were freebies at her website (aprilsvanity.com) and I think they're still available.

And for those who think the eyes can still be a problem-- Rdna Eyez are mapped to work with the P4 characters. Does anyone know if P4 people can use the Face room in Poser 5-- I'm betting no. Emily

Dale B ( ) posted Tue, 29 July 2003 at 5:57 PM

They can't, Emily. There apparently has to be a rather signific ant database built up based on the mesh to allow the morph tools in the face room to work. Now, if someone could figure =that= one out, so that you could enable all the models out there for use in the face room.....

Dale B ( ) posted Tue, 29 July 2003 at 6:01 PM

Yes they are, fauve, and thanks for the link! I've been trying to remember where I'd seen the those beasties for a few months; lost a couple of files and they were in it.

AprilYSH's re-mapped P4Man "saved my life" several times when I had a weaker, slower computer. Used with high-quality M2 maps and some clever morphing, the average viewer would probably never suspect it wasn't Mike. Even for those with powerful 'puters, AprilYSH's un-Dork is great for less RAM-taxing background figures.

Yes, with a passion. Long live Posette! Viva la DAZ Gorilla! The Mil Dragon is out of season, heh heh... (...rubs hands...)

Yep, I'm still a fan of the P4 man, and prefer the leaner look that he has to the "beefy" Michael (although beef is good sometimes :-). Even the Casual Man has a lot of potential if you are willing to put a little into it. This image has 4 figures ALL of which are the P4 Casual Man. They were made using Mikenron's Casual Man Expansion Packs available at Poser Pros.

I don't think there's anything serioulsy wrong with eaither Mr. Dork or any of the out-of-the box models. Here's part of an illustration I made with 'Don'. For my purposes, they're all right.
