Subject: How do I make a twoD image not so transperant?

I like the way the emage of the flamingo turned out for this picture however, I was messing around with a tutorial on how to incorperate 2d images into bryce and it said to make the back ground of the picture white. Unfortunatly it seems that everything that is white in the picture comes out transperant also. What am I missing?

I think you mean black... :) With a transparency map for this one, everything ouside the bird should be black, and the bird itself must be flat white. Seems you have some darker areas inside the bird, thats why its transparent. Hope this helps. :)

Okay, spacifically how did you do that? Did you cut the butterflies out of the picture in the second frame?

This was done in photoshop. The butterflies are on a seperate layer, and for the alpha map I turned them white using the Hue/saturation/lightness button, setting lightness to 100%. You could do the same in most paint programs that support layers, or even in a program that doesn't support layers by just masking the image area you want to turn white. If you don't have the lightness control you could always then paint the masked area white. I hope I an explaining this OK.
