Excellent work.. very non poser like... what lighting setup did u use?

stewer ( ) posted Fri, 01 August 2003 at 9:32 AM

Adding that to the FAQ is a good idea - EmpressZario, do you mind if I add your material screenshot to my site?

did you ever come up with a SkinBody setting? Other than the spot value, what else would need to change in the SkinBody setup? Love the effect and now I gotta figure a fast way to apply it as a mat pose file or something. Unless of course somebody's already beaten me to the punch ;) Dave

I wanna make sure what I'm doing is not only going to work in one lighting set-up (ie high intesity, global, or single spotlight). I'm working on a setting for the body that will sorta help seam the body and head and give the same resolution as the head. Stewer - yes you can add it to your website :) It's funny... this all started when I was trying to create a wax effect.

Actually, in all the pics above I applied the same skin setting to the body and head (just made sure the right texture maps went to the right area) - it's just the body keeps coming out more blurry than the head, so I'm trying to work on that without getting the Pringle chip skin effect.

Hi i know this is an old thread but just had to try this and fiddle a bit. What i have found is that using the translucency settings make the skin look a bit better and receive llight even better. what I did is use the settings exactly as above, but changed the translucency color to a peach or brown color then set the translucency value at around .3 or .4 and connect your image map/texture map to your translucency color. There is a small difference as you can see here, all threee were rendered in the same lighting and pose, first default everything, second with the setting posted above and third with translucency on. anyways hope this helps, very interesting stuff :)
