Thank you very much for the quick responce Steve, I thought that it was still a case of sending an email to Dan. Well I'm now going to sign up for some dream making with the help of PC. Cheers Catlin

Yes, I too wish to say thank you for your responsiveness here. I'm sure everyone is busier than usual with all our inquiries.

I wrote Daz but haven't heard anything yet.. so I'll try here: Can you buy the monthly-payment-plan PC club with Paypal or not? and if so: how? I will gladly pay the mothly fee each first in the month if needed, but I am NOT ALLOWED to use our creditcard online.

ssalter ( ) posted Sat, 02 August 2003 at 12:04 PM

TrekkieGrrrl, According to what Steve said above All Paypal payments are now processed automatically via paypal at DAZ. In order to place an order via Paypal. First, select Paypal as your payment method. Then, finalize your orde by clicking on the "Place My Order" button. This will then bring you to a page that has a link saying "Please click here to complete your Paypal payment." This will bring up a page showing your OPEN order and a "BUY NOW" button will appear, click on this button and then you will be taken directly to the paypal website where you can finish your transaction. After that, you will be brought back to the DAZ site and can start enjoying the benefits of your new Platinum Club Membership. (You might need to logout and then back in again in order for your membership benefits to appear depending on your browser). you can use Paypal.

Renewal of Platinum for the oneshot deal I can't use my Visa. But I can use Paypal. Got that. BUT my account with Paypal uses my Visa. (it's really a debit not a credit card but I don't think they know that). Will that transaction fail?

catlin_mc ( ) posted Sat, 02 August 2003 at 2:29 PM

No Spit, my card is a debit too and PayPal are quite happy with that. I also paid for my membership last night using PayPal and am just waiting for my account to be activated............can't wait. 8) Catlin

ssalter, I read that. However it doesn't quite fit with what I see at Checkout :o( Has ANYBODY ordered the new monthly Platinum Clob membership with PayPal?! Or is it only the 1 year membership?

ssalter ( ) posted Sat, 02 August 2003 at 3:40 PM

PayPal can certainly handle recurring payments but I really don't see where DAZ specifically states that you can use PayPal for monthly recurring payments. You would either need to have enough of a balance in your PayPal account, or have your PayPal account setup with a credit card. Most debit cards are also credit cards and work well in this situation. That still doesn't answer your question. I really don't know if DAZ has things setup on their end to deal with recurring payments on a monthly basis via PayPal. If they aren't then it isn't difficult for them to set up. Keep calling...hopefully someone there will get back to you soon. I imagine they are overloaded with calls though. This happens to DAZ a lot, usually everytime they announce something. The info they provide either is inaccurate, incomplete or ambiguous. Not that I am dissing DAZ so much. Their website is really usuable now whereas it was a horror in the past. They provide a great clearinghouse for the Poser community...and I'm off to their site right now to see if there is anything I might wanna buy! Steve

The monthly Platinum Club Membership CANNOT be purchased with Paypal. There is no way for us to do an automatic debit on your paypal account currently, so if you can only pay via Paypal, then you'll need to purchase the annual membership. It costs more upfront, but over the course of the year it will be less money. Currently, there's a small bug with the annual membership product, so it's been deactivated until our programmer can get it going again, it should be up by Monday afternoon, if not later today. Thanks, Steve DAZ Productions, Inc.

SKondris ( ) posted Sat, 02 August 2003 at 3:46 PM

Actually, I take that back ;) our programmer says he just fixed it, so the annual membership is back up and running as well now. I'll get your account activated right away Catlin. Steve

So my download frenzy will have to wait..............sad me. But never mind can't wait for Monday. 8) Catlin

:) I can't believe that I have to hit PgDn 13 times to get to the bottom of the page that talks about how wonderful the Platinum Club is. Sheesh, just summarize it at the top and give us all a break! :) Oh, TrekkieGrrrl? At the very bottom of that inordinately long page detailing the wonders of the Platinum Club, there is some small print I just noticed. **Platinum Club Membership available in two payment plans: (1) Pay a one-time start up fee of $29.95 and 11 monthly payments of $7.95 thereafter in order to maintain membership privileges. (2)Pay a one time annual fee of $99.95 for 12 months of membership. Renewal fees are not required for option (1). To renew under option (2) a one time fee of $69.95 is required for an additional 12 months of membership. Acceptable payment methods for option (1) are VISA, MC, Discover, or AMEX. Paypal, check or money order, Discover, or AMEX are acceptable payment methods for option (2) (VISA and MC are not accepted for option (2)). *30% Discount only good on DAZ Original Items. Not good on resell, brokered, or platinum club items. Thus, I would bet that DAZ hasn't set things up properly to accept recurring payments via PayPal. You can't use a Visa or Mastercard for a yearly payment? shakes head in disbelief I'd love to learn what the rationale is behind their payment methodology. They'd probably make more money if they just simplified...set things up with PayPal for recurring payments, accepted all major credit cards, and so on. I used my Visa when I signed up for a year. hmm. Steve

Seems we cross posted Steve, I'll go try it now. 8)

catlin_mc ( ) posted Sat, 02 August 2003 at 3:50 PM

Nope, it still says nothing.

SKondris ( ) posted Sat, 02 August 2003 at 3:54 PM

ssalter, Believe me if we could simplify things we would, unfortunately, our local credit card processor company (NOVA) penalizes us tremendously if we allow VISA or MC purchases of the monthly membership. Sorry for the long email, there's just too many Platinum Club benefits to adequately explain in only a paragraph or two. ;) Take care all, I'm out until Monday now. Steve

SKondris ( ) posted Sat, 02 August 2003 at 3:54 PM

Ouch! Dang, you're too fast, Cat! Ok, try again please. :D Steve

Sorry for the long email, there's just too many Platinum Club benefits to adequately explain in only a paragraph or two. ;) Hi Steve, You do mean, tremendous penalties on annual purchases of PC membership on VISA or MC, right? Your statement on your site says: (2)Pay a one time annual fee of $99.95 for 12 months of membership.....(VISA and MC are not accepted for option (2) Although, it would make sense that you absorb more charges on monthly transactions with VISA and MC rather than annual, but you are disallowing VISA and MC on annual memberships...at least according to your info. The email wasn't that long. I was complaining about the length of the page describing the PC on your site! Shucks, just put all the important info at the top, organized nicely and succintly, and put all the flashy stuff down below for those that want to look at it. grin Have a great weekend! Steve

SKondris ( ) posted Sat, 02 August 2003 at 4:19 PM

Gotcha, yeah we're going to be updating the platinum club product pages on Monday, I'll take your suggestion into account. And, yes, I meant to say the annual purchases they hold over our heads like a big atom-bomb. Thanks, Steve K

I'm now a happy bunny and have repetitive strain injury in my mouse hand with all the pointy clicky stuff. Thanks Steve.................8) Catlin

Sorry if this is somewhere else and I missed it but is anyone on monthly PC and finding issues with the automatic renewal? I did send Daz an e-mail but will probably have to wait until Monday to find anything out. I was just wondering if it was only me.

Hey Steve, I made the left screenshot 8/5/2003 you see Sarah was 35 % on sale ;) I noticed you changed the end of sale to 8/13/2003 (right screen). So the system has beaten you a few hours ;)

Is that a correct example: Sarah Spriteling is 20% on Sale 8/4/2003 end the sale, I purchase Sarah Spriteling on 8/5/2003 and get 35% off. ?

SKondris wrote:
No, Anything that is currently on it's own sale, will not be part of the storewide sale once it's current sale ends. The current sale is the best price it will be at.

Noticed that too. It appears they still have a few bugs to work out of their page. Right now, there's quite a few preview images that are "Image not available". BTW, still waiting for Mimic 1.0. ~DM
