First biggie: i would like to suggest that after the contest... can we post our "formulas" for the tree (trees) that we use on the challenge? formuals can be in the form of TEXT or the form of IMAGES captured from the screen (which i think is really much more of a help). Is that okay? can we do that? can AS say yes to that? hope so... coz i want to grab my hands on those great treeeeesssss!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA Second biggie: a friend of mine has a 3ds max cd complete. (which i was messing around since my comp is dead)... Then is tried to scan his Intaller CD2 and i saw.... A MINE OF GREAT AND WONDERFUL TEXTURES! i mean WOW! thast a lot of reaaally useful textures... i ask him if i could have a copy and he said yes... now i want to share that with the BRYCE FAMILY... so heres my prob.. Prob 1: is that legal? can i share those textures? ill just name it "Textures Compiled" i mean theres like a ton of those textures on the web, i just "compiled" them.... is that okay? Prob 2: Who can host the texture... i dont have a website... so i reaaly needed a site for that... well thats it basically... hope you guys can shed a little light or comment... AS i really need your oponion on this... hope you can help out.. EYECON

Discreet is really hard on illegal copies. They even used to pay people for giving clues about wich people use illegal copies of their software, and they probably still do. I don't think posting those textures on the web would be a very intelligent move :) As for sharing the tree settings; great idea.

Actually your friend sharing those textures with you is illegal to. Usually all content on software CDs fall under the User Agreement, and is restricted to only the persons or computer with the registered licensed.

Yes, Eyecon, MAXers are really tight about that, so pay attention. RR, they're giving out money? That's cool, I just need another HD on my PC... goes off thinkin' about all the people he knows who use... A-HEM! :) As for the other issue, yes, it's in the challenge rules: as happened for the DTE mats, the purpose is to collect a lot of formulas/recipes for original trees :) S-

there are shiploads of texture sites, with mountains of textures, photographic and otherwise..available for free (some actually worth the price..;) LEMOG, Gr8sites, another one very similar to LEMOG's, but in Czech republic (gotta thank those guys for the splitup..it's much easier to spell than Czechoslovakia..;), heck to a Google search on 'textures', and 'bryce', and you'll be knee deep in 'em.
btw, like the ideas about the trees, all mine look exactly alike for some reason..;)
