Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 7:57 am)
Well the guitar doesn't interest me thogh I'm sure many people would really apreciate those poses. But for the natural poses? Am I interested? YES I would really appreciate such work. What I would love is casual standing and sitting poses. I have trouble just getting Poser figures to stand up straight given how curved thier backs are in default! Also, could you explain what is and isn't capture when a pose is saved?
Okay, I feel the same way you do momodot about the standing and sitting and will work on that. Saving poses will be new for me too ... I've been saving figures so far, I just know how to make the poses ... I may need help to make this all work. I'll let you know when I learn some of the saving stuff myself. But the poses ... hea, I'm jazzed for doing this project. Boni

Boni, this is a very worthwhile project, certainly. If you save a pose, it will save the entire body, which if you are dealing with a shoulder pose, for example, isn't very useful. The hands, fortunately, are set up to be saved by themselves. If you are on a PC, tho, you can use CR2Edit ("Create Pose File" on the menu)to save poses for any part or parts of the body. A couple of people have recently told me they are creating pose libraries this way, and I hope they will be posted, as the demand is certainly there. Dan http://www.neca.com/~dwilmes/cr2edit.html
Hey Boni, just my thought !!! At the moment I'm making a lot (and I mean really a lot of Poses for that subject ...). Maybe you should take a look at Tygerskins Megastore (Tina hosted some of my combined Poses). For that subject I planned to make a website. This website is nearly finished with more than 400 Poses (surely it'll be more in the final version) regarding about 150 Poses to the model-subject (even the males one ...) I think in about a few days Tina will bring up the next chapter of my combined and Comic-Poses - this will also be a lot of poses(I won't host them on my Website too, and I'm to glad to keep in contact with her - that's the reason of this manner). I think I'll put the whole thing up in about 2 or 3 weeks. So mail me please ... Maybe we could exchange something ...
These are great posts guys, thanks, before I finalize my poses (and Dan, that is very, very helpful), I'll wait and check your posts with Tina's site. I don't have them finalized yet because of time constrants and some lost files in about three moves in the past 6 months (computer moves that is.) But I will keep in touch as I want to get this out for our other users ... I especially think this will help the new users, although it could speed up the works of the pro's too, they wouldn't have to tweek the poses as much as before. Okay, a new frontier for Poser, I like that. Take care ... more to come. Boni

Okay, I've noticed the poses straight out of Poser are exagerated and sometimes even look uncomfortable. (ouch), What I'm working on (in P3, don't have P4 yet) is more natural poses. Seperate poses for the hands, arms, shoulder ... individual body parts. A more challenging project is doing guitar chords ... but that's down the road. Now ... would anyone be interested in these when I'm finished, so I can find a host so I can put them in Funstuff? Examples are relaxed shoulders, hand holding a guitar pick, brooding facial expression. Anyway, unusual things that may not be anywhere else. What do you all think? Just to let you know, I've been an artist for over 35 years and specialize in people and life drawing, I've also played guitar for just as long so I know the hand positions for the chords in the future project. Hopefully I can start this project in the next few days. Oh ... one other thing, suggestions for poses that people may be having problems with that I might work on for everyone. I've learned so much here, I want to give back with what I know. Thanks for your input. Boni
