Subject: Need help with Poser import transparency map

The picture shows the Poser render on the left and the result of Vue on the right. Below are the settings for the garment. How do I re-create the Poser effect in Vue? I'm guessing that the texture map gives the object its color and the transparency map is allowing the "white" object color to produce the silver effect of the mail in Poser.

I read in a tutorial that you have to export the figure without the bump map, but that goes for .obj files as far as I remember.... have you exported as a .pz3 file og .obj? If its an .obj try getting rid of all bump maps and export again....but I'm not that experienced, so perhaps somebody can help better that I :-)

I have looked at it further it appears the V2 figure has a setting with a relfection map so it produces the shine for the metal look. The outer clothing is a brown material with a transparency map to let the shine show up. The shine shows up everywhere and the clothing is completely invisible.

Sometimes you have to go in and adjust the reflection values, highlight values, bump strength in Vue; for example, most skin highlights import as black from Poser, where you don't want that color highlight in Vue. Reflection maps can be a problem. Try playing with those settings and see how it goes. It's not a transparency problem, I don't think.

I'm with Djeser in not thinking it's a transparency issue. Try going into the material editor (F6) selecting the material that's the problem, then on the reflections tab alter the global reflectivity. Hope this helps.

Poser and Vue use different techniques for handling reflection. Actually Poser (4) fakes it by using reflections maps (textures). Vue truly reflects the environment. Either remove reflection completely from the texture in Vue (or remove it in Poser before saving the PZ3) or change the material to a metal.
