Fractals F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 21 7:59 pm)
For me anyway, trying to resize a flame image is extremely CPU intensive. ( i make mine on a P3 733.. its old but trusted lol )
This is taken from the Ultra Fractal FAQ page-
" Flame fractals and Out Of Memory errors-
Ultra Fractal 3 can calculate flame fractals with the Flame Fractals coloring algorithm in enr.ucl and Apophysis. This opens up new artistic possibilities, but it can also create problems. Flame fractals take a lot of memory to calculate, and they cannot be rendered to disk or used with network calculations. These problems may be addressed in a future version of Ultra Fractal. For now, have fun, but use them at your own risk."
Sorry i cant be much more help, but someone else with a bit more technical experience might be able to :)
The way I have created Flame Fractals has drastically changed over the last few weeks! Since I have started to use the AEFlame plug-in (http://neosapien.net/flame/) for Adobe After Effects I have found no boundries that can limit what I want to create. Everything from 3200x2400 still images to flame fractal animations in any output resolution. Yes, Edobe After Effects may be a little more expensive than all/most fractal software available, but believe me the results can be amazing...especially if you are use to the the compositing options available within AE. I hope to update my site within the next 6 weeks with some flame animations done in AE (sorry, have a visit to Russia to organise in between). I was totally shocked with what I could create with just a little work. Cheers
