i have had this problem as have others.. it is the process. max to poser in obj does this... i dont know why, someone else might. i suggest export from max as a 3ds file instead. poser will import 3ds models fine and the difference between working in poser with an obj or 3ds is negligble (since the final model will ((might)) be saved to the lib which will creat an obj copy... (sans offending black patches) though you might have some resizing ahead of you. you can simply resize next to a regular poser figure and get your scale back. hope this helps.
