Yea, it's a pain trying to get those features to work. The trick is to get the mouse moving before you click. This is how I do it successfully most of the time. 1. hold the shift key down 2. head the mouse in the direction you've chosen rather quickly 3. click Once you get the hang of it it works. Don't forget you're "ctrl + z" combo which is the undo (for the PC).
This is one of those few things that worked just fine in Bryce 4, but somehow got messed up in Bryce 5. In Bryce 5 you have to take your button pressing timing skills to the zen level to get it to work as you want it to, but it will work. AS

Hi, I want to draw straight lines on a terrain. In Real World Bryce (pg 349) it says to press the Shift key and I will only be able to drag the brush horizontally, vertically, or at a 45 degree angle. When I try it, I can only drag it horizontally. I want to make vertical lines and 45 degree angle lines too. Any suggestions? I don't find anything about this in the manual. Thanks, Willow
