How do you make circular text in Photoshop?? I want text that is on an arc. Thanks.

About the only way I think you might be able to do it is to manually position every individual letter. Type in Photoshop won't follow a path. If you have Illustrator you can import it into Photoshop.

it is not too hard to do it in ps... 1-make a dot on a layer, to use as your arc center. 2-Put each letter on it's own layer, and click on the layer in the layers pallet, but do not select the letter. 3-go to Edit>Transform>Rotate A rectangular box with a center point will show around the letter. Take the center mark, witch is your rotation center, and place it over the dot you made earlier, then rotate the letter around it's new hub. 4-Do that with each of your letters till you are done!

Do you have Microsoft Word? It is SO easy if you do it in Word and drag the text onto photoshop. I do that all the time.

How do I do this in Illustrator then? I have Illustrator, and I have Word, but I would prefer Illustrator. Thanks.

Well, just in case you want to use Word, this is how you do it: -click the 3D looking "A" at the bottom of the window that says "WordArt" when you more your cursor over it -then select what you want -when you finish typing in the words and style, drag the finished text into Photoshop and that's it Adam

I would save as a Illustrator EPS, then open in Photoshop. Or else just cut and paste.

yes if someone can best explain this using illustrator 8 I would appreciate it. I have access to it, but not really familiar with it.

to create circular text in illustratro, just use the circle tool to make a circle (just the stroke, no fill in the circle), next go to the type tool, and if you hold it down you will see that it has different type styles(just like the photoshop version does, but more), choose the one with the wavy line and the "T" on top of it. That's the type tool to make type follow a path. Next click on the circle and you should see the blinkind bean, and just start typing. If you don't like the position of the type, just simply use the move tool(which is the top left button on the tool bar) and just use it to move it along the curve. You can then save it as a pic, and open it in photoshop....one thing I haven't tried is coping the type once it's done and pasting it to photoshop....try it.

You can also save as a Photoshop 5 file in Illustrator.Works great.

There is a way to do it totally in photoshop. do a search for either my name on this forum or for circular text. It is outlined there, it's easy, and good results. -Darth_Logice
