I really couldn't find info on installation of Vue Pro, I looked at the FAQ's and then tried to look up Knowledge base, but maybe there will be some info when it comes....oh I am so excited...of course we can't eat for a month, but we need to loose weight anyways. Sharen

Yes, as far as I know you need Ozone for your Cinema 4d

I report here what Lynn wrote in a previous thread: 3C4D. Ozone 2.0 for C4D works directly within C4D, whereas Vue 4 Professional is a cooperative product. You will want Ozone 2.0 for C4D if you need any real granularity over atmospheres.3<:I>

You will be able to export entire scenes, objects, plants, skies to the named softwares.

So basically the difference is that both let you use the Vue atmosphere only in Pro you have to make it in Vue than export it and Ozone enables you to create and adjust atmospheres from within C4D?

i don't think it imports cloth/hair from poser, nor do i think it can generate its own. this leaves 2 choices: either don't use people or cloth of any type in your animations (or use plastic-look hair, like p4) or use this program to create an environment, and go out and buy lightwave, max, maya, c4d, softimage, etc... thing is, those programs usually have their own fog, particles, dynamics, and better render engines anyhow, so if you have vue 4, you can make your terrains there, then export them to your other 3d app, and apply all other effects and animate right there. i'm not bagging on v4 pro. it's just that without dynamic cloth and hair, you still have to go to another program for those needs, and if you have another program that can do those things (with the exception of p5) then why would you need v4 pro? you'd still need to buy ozone, you'd still need to buy mover... best of luck to those who buy it though. i can't say it's not tempting. ren

I'm excited, and disheartened. This is something I really want, but alas, the sidegrade special ends 3 days before I would be able to order it. Oh well, I hope people enjoy it, as I probably won't.

With a little luck, e-on hopefully will extend the special period for sidegrade order??

You know, this product is really filling a little 3D void area. They've gone to great lengths to insure compatibility with every major format, and then some. I sure wish them the best of luck! Now that I've ordered, I'm sitting here drooling over the possibilities.. I stopped work on a scene I had already started, using a donated item from Sam's 3D (thank you, Sharen!), and I'll pick it up in Vue Pro again. Someone indicated earlier a problem getting an Order#. Mine showed up in either the 2nd or 3rd screen; several screens before I got to the payment screen, in fact. Thanks, Norm

Lynn mentioned in a previous thread, I think, that after the release of the product the beta testers are allowed to talk publicly about their experiences with the product. Is this in fact true? Before I invest $$, time, and effort in the product, I would like to know how stable it is and what bugs or issues the beta testers have found. I would rather pay more money for a stable product than pay a bit less right away out of excitement and enthusiasm and end up with something that may still have kinks to work out. Don't mean to sound like a wet blanket, to those who have ordered already, more power to ya, but I'd sure like to hear from the beta testers about the product. So Lynn, can the beta testers legally talk with users now?

I was referring to the beta testers in general, as I am wondering if there are other members of the Renderosity Vue community that were beta testers. I know you have many years of experience with Vue, since I think the first version? If you would care to comment on any issues or bugs you found, I would basically like to know if there are any known issues with this initial release for Windows.

From the info on the e-on website: "....and a pouch of 5 postcards of pictures made by famous Vue artists." Interesting to know, what pictures were selected for the postcards. Anyone have any idea? Cheers

Djeser: we were testing Vue 4 Professional for month. E-on would not present it at Apple Expo and would not ship it if we had found bugs in the final beta:-) I'm ONLY working and creating images with the latest beta and cannot go back to Vue 4 now (even if Vue 4.12 is already great). This new soft is so amazing!! E-on's people have done a hard and great job to offer us such a jewlery:-) Cheers: No we don't know. Maybe the first who receives the shipped version will tell us?

What about the OpenGL? That's what worries me. Did any of the testers by chance have a GEForce 3?

Vue 4 Professional includes a video card tester. When you open VP for the first time, it will tell you if your card is compatible with VP's OpenGL. At any moment, you can test your card from the FILE/OPTIONS. I have opened a thread for that here: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1417411 If your card works xit Vue 4.12, it should also work with Vue 4 Professional.

Since you are able to discuss the beta testing with Vue Professional, Guitta, that means the other beta testers can talk about it as well?

Guitta, in the post at the link attached, #34 on the thread, Lynn specifically and exactly says "Once we ship, all the beta testers can discuss their experiences." . This does not say to me that experiences in beta testing are anyone's secret after shipping of the product, but that E-on is willing to share information. Perhaps Lynn could clarify? Thanks!

What Lynn said, means our experiences with Vue 4 Professional. Beta tests are ALWAYS completely confidential. And where should be the interest for you we speak about beta tests? There is nothing that could interest anybody, except e-on. THEY made the program:-). Guitta

So the beta testers can talk about their experiences with Vue 4 Professional, as you stated. That is correct? I do not want to misunderstand anyone. And Guitta, I am always interested in everything about a program I have or am thinking of purchasing. I find it very valuable to learn about the program so I can make an informed choice. And I know what I am interested in. I was at the E-on website, and was reading through the information on Vue 4 Pro. They talked about the plants (30) and the new plant editor, are the plants the same as currently in Vue? I had purchased the additional plants from Eon as well. I am watching to see if they put a demo version up at the site. Thanks!

I don't know about the plants. Because while testing, we only used the current plants that came also with the original Vue 4. And as I'm almost using the beta... Guitta
