Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 30 8:14 pm)
Thanks to all for the encouragement!
I'll start out with Vue 4 - as I don't have any high-end apps to use with Vue Pro.
Walk before I can run.....
Later, I might upgrade to Vue Pro. After I learn my way around.
I get the distinct impression that the Vue community is A LOT friendlier than the Poser "community".
(Perhaps I should refer to the "Poser Community" as the "Poser 'hood".)
As much as I enjoy Poser, I certainly don't care for the virtual bloodletting that goes on all the time in the Poser forums.
On the other hand, I haven't seen much evidence of flaming here in the Vue forum....that's a solid plus+++++++++++
An announcement of a software upgrade from e-on doesn't seem to result in immediate flaming and fighting. This is in sharp contrast to any annoucements by Curious Labs in the Poser forum.
I can't tell you how pleasant this is to see.....

I saw the 4.2 upgrade announcement on the Curious Labs website.
Compatibility with P5 was all that it took to convince me: I'm buying Vue.
Maybe, just maybe, I can avoid the rendering lock-ups that occur all too frequently within P5. Especially when one attempts to render complex scenes.
I have found that if I place four or five V3 characters in a scene, P5 tends to choke on the render. Sadly, this problem is even worse when props, backgrounds, etc. are added to the mix. Of course, there are "tricks" to (sometimes) get around the rendering problems. But these "tricks" always result in terribly lenghty render times. And the "tricks" won't even solve the problem about 40% of the time.
I believe that Vue might be the solution that I've been looking for......it's just too bad that P5 can't handle complex renders natively....
Vue renders are beautiful. I'm looking forward to getting started soon.
