Subject: Looking for Mil Cat Animation Poses

whbos ( ) posted Wed, 17 September 2003 at 5:54 PM ยท edited Wed, 20 November 2024 at 1:21 AM

I've searched the MP and found everything except animated poses for the Millenium Cat. Has anyone taken on the task of creating a walk for the Mil Cat. I've tried doing it myself in the Walk Designer, but it is not an easy task. I'm surprised there isn't anything like this available at DAZ. The poor kitty seems to have dropped down on the list of popular items. I'm doing an animation sequence in Adobe After Effects and need the pose files for an animated cat walking. I don't care if it's free or for sale.

HaiGan has animated walk and run cycles for the original Poser cat in Free Stuff. They actually work reasonably well with the MilCat, although you'll need to manually animate the additional tail joints, adjust the shoulders, and reposition the feet slightly.

Updating the walk to be ready-to-use with the Milcat is on my list of stuff to do, along with converting the animated run cycle for use with Walk Designer for both the milcat and the basic Poser cat. :)

Thanks, I'll check Free Stuff. I tried the Walk Designer with the Mil Cat which would have been almost as good except the front legs were ignored and were sticking straight out to the left and right (sort of like the typical poser figure default pose). I've never paid much attention to my own cat's walk to see how the legs work when walking or running.

... except the front legs were ignored and were sticking straight out .... That's because Walk Designer was trying by default to apply a biped walk animation to a quadruped figure. Any poses placed in the Walk Designer folder turn into blend styles in the Walk Designer control panel, so you can theoretically correct that with the sliders if you have a proper animation from which to work (the Walk Designer can be a bit glitchy at times). If you want a real laugh, try applying a quadruped walk animation to a biped sometime.
