Couple of quick renders ((thanks Giana lol)) whilst i ran through some final checks before submittin' them for sale. Final package stands at 27 props between them and a Lash transmaps for both. Rather than try and second guess which tear patterns would be most used/liked what i'll do is....whoever buys them can mail me the tear track they'd like modelled ((i guess a quick head render picture with a visible line drawn on it to indicate where you'd like a tear)) and i'll include it in an update pack which i'll mail freely to the initial buyers and eventually combine it with this one for future buyers. Image above is using the Edo texture, image below uses the Nia texture ((one of the Nia textures already has a mascara run, so i just added to it with a couple of tears darkened down)) And now the lovely subject of cost lol. A realistic price for this would be........? ((i was thinkin' somethin' cheap and cheerful...a bit like me heh)) Ever

Mascara run

This is getting better every time you post. Nicely done. I will let others advise on price, but I know I'd love to have it.

SAMS3D ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 12:22 PM

Oh, when will this be ready....I love it. Sharen

Everseer ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 12:51 PM

So long as i don't find any lil glitches and spend a bit more time testin' it with some character packs it should be ready for upload in about 24hrs. How does $6 sound? i'd go for five but then it'd be my luck that i'm flooded for new positions and that extra dollar i'll stick to my monitor for incentive to work especially hard on the freebie update ::grins:: Thanks for all the input and great comments :) Ever

dialyn ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 12:55 PM

Oh, I'd pay $6. I'm not that great at postwork and I like the look of the package. Seems fair to me.

shazz501 ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 1:05 PM

wow, this looks like a great package, and i would definately buy it for $6 :) looks fantastic

SAMS3D ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 1:09 PM

Okay.....when do you think we can get this. Sharen

Everseer ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 3:17 PM

All finished testing on the M2/V2 Head morphs. A couple of the tears need slight repositioning as to be expected but other than that all my test renders came out spot on :) Promo renders also finished, and i'm just typin' up the readme now so it'll be with the RMP beta testers in about an hour...server permittin'. Best guess as to when it'll be in the store is early next week? Ever :)

nikitacreed ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 3:43 PM

COOL!!! I can't wait to grab this! ;o)

SAMS3D ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 4:44 PM

Great, I will be there. Sharen

Cylithera ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 4:49 PM

AhH! Cool! I still haven't been able to master tears in PS, so these'll be greaat! :D

Everseer ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 5:15 PM

woooohoooo....uploaded without the server/my browser/computer dieing on me lol. ::does the happy dance before crashing out from lack of sleep:: With huge amounts of appreciation Ever ;)

queri ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 6:41 PM

$6!!! Yowser! I'm there. Likewise no good at post, not this delicate stuff anyway. Emily

Everseer ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 7:56 PM

Latest news....good and bad Good news is that with a lil repositionin' the tears work and render well with most figures...still a couple currently bein' checked out but it gives much more scope...yayyyyyyyyyyyyyy bad news is that for some reason they aren't rendering right in P5 ((which is quickly becomin' the biggest bane in my life)) i've decided to put this "sleep" thing on hold while i try and fix the issue and with luck it'll be done over the weekend..failin' that a seperate P5 package will follow keep ya updated Ever

pendarian ( ) posted Thu, 18 September 2003 at 10:23 PM

Everseer, I have a question. :) First of all, great work!! Is this for V2 and M2 only? Have I missed something somewhere? (would not be unusual) Pendy

Everseer ( ) posted Fri, 19 September 2003 at 3:37 AM

Hi Pendy :) the tears were modelled onto M2/V2 head mesh, but after speaking to my beta tester late last night she told me they were re-positioning very well on a lot of the other figures ((V3 for one as i tried that myself...who takes Mikes tears extremely well :D...surprising what playing around teaches ya heh)) Mill kids and Judy etc are being tested today while we continue to look into the Poser5 issue. Hope this helps :) Ever

Simderella ( ) posted Fri, 19 September 2003 at 4:07 AM

oh thats a shame, i dont use v2 or m2.. I really hope you make a V3 & M3 version.. V3 is the only female figure i use really.. I could never go back to v2.. hehe Those tears look awesome though.. How well do they work on V3? cuz i don't think that if they kind of work, would be good enough for pix, because of the nature of what they are and they should be close to the skin... Congrats on an original product! -SimderZ- xXx

Sim :) did a quick render with V3 and all it took was a movement of .001 on the z axis to get them right ((basically just moved them until the transparent box was visible through her skin)) I did notice that the lacrimal fill may need a bit more playing with as it slightly overan on the far eye ((this could be easily fixed by rescaling down a percent or two)) if repositioning doesn't work then i'd be happy to remodel them from V3 head mesh from scratch. Still lookin' into the Poser 5 problem though. For some reason the tears don't seem to be taking their transparency settings and jus' appearing grey....but not being a big poser 5 user i'm not sure if this is a common problem or anyone knew the fix? Tears above are the V2 ones and i'm told the M2 ones fit just as well

Caly ( ) posted Fri, 19 September 2003 at 8:01 AM

Oh yes, I'm really hoping for V3 and M3 ones too. I don't use V2 anylonger either... :)

V3 works fine and dandy for me :) should have some news tonight on how well M3 wears them ((and a new round of tests for Poser5 use)) If it turns out that the M2/V2 pack isn't spot on then i'll set to work on a specific version for them. ::toddles off still cursin' poser5:: Ever ;)

Everseer ( ) posted Fri, 19 September 2003 at 8:14 AM

PS. They're now in the RMP ((lordy that was fast)) but ya might wanna hold off for a day or two until i have solid info about M3. One way or another i'll have him weeping hehe

Simderella ( ) posted Fri, 19 September 2003 at 8:24 AM

oh well thats kewl!! and i dont use p5.. so i'm smiling!! adding them to my b'day list. teehee Thanks for the pic ;)

pendarian ( ) posted Fri, 19 September 2003 at 2:55 PM

That is way cool. I'll put in my wish list and wait for your word on M3 :) I have a feeling that if the M2 version doesn't work on him the Vicki version might ;) Pendy

Giana ( ) posted Fri, 19 September 2003 at 10:15 PM

i saw the pack in the MP... great job and sweet looking pack, Ray!!! gotta love the blood and mascara previews also ;) i'd also like to say that it's great to hear/see you working so hard at making this the most versatile pack that you can and addressing the needs of your customers/potential customers... [i read your ReadMe, too; liked the fact that you're willing to work with people's suggestions/ideas for tear tracks] :))

Everseer ( ) posted Sat, 20 September 2003 at 5:35 AM

Thanks Giana :) Its always great to hear appreciation for that lil bit of extra effort. While i'm still fallin' way short of the Artist/Modeller i'd like to be its the lil steps like this that make the journey somewhat easier :D plus, i enjoy the interraction and input of other people ((kinda helps when my mind goes blank lol)) Couple of things i thought i'd bring up....Poser 5 version still not playin' ball, will keep tryin' and maybe even give the guys at Curious labs a shout and see if they can enlighten me and secondly....The test renders i've seen for the M3 tears aren't somethin' i'd be happy with if i were a customer, so......i'm playin' with the idea of a "blood, Sweat, and Tears" pack for him. It'll carry the tears as the previous one did, but also some head and body perspiration runs and i'm toyin' with the idea of liquid runs from the mouth ((milk, water, blood etc)) to add somethin' a lil different. ((and on the blood trickle idea possibly even some smartprop puncture wounds for the neck for my nocturnal friends ;) )) Once again i'll throw it up and see where the ideas land Thanks Ever/Ray ;p

Caly ( ) posted Sat, 20 September 2003 at 10:45 AM

I love the Blood, Sweat, & Tears for M3... for V3 too, please? A Messy vampire, a tired athelete, an unhappy lover, a laugh that spilled milk down the sides of the mouth... :D So many possibilities. :)

Giana ( ) posted Sat, 20 September 2003 at 2:40 PM

oooo, bitemarks!!! and your idea of perspiration calls to mind the couple commercials that i have seen for Gatorade, a drink to replenish the body after a lot of exertion. the couple commercials/ads that i've seen have the atheletes sweating in the colours of the drink with a slogan that asks: is it in you?

Everseer ( ) posted Sat, 20 September 2003 at 2:59 PM

Sure, i can do a combined pack for mike/vik 3 :) Tears and liquid runnin' from the mouth should be pretty easy ((though i draw the line at laughin' too hard and havin' milk shoot outta ya nose...and don't look at me like that..i know i'm not the only its happened to hehe)) I think the sweat runs will be pretty much the same as the tears, a little more long winded and fiddly cos they'll be a lot longer, also i'll have to see how they stand upto the extreme morphs mike 3 has ((bulking up in seconds and keeping all that sweat inside has gotta be seriously unhealthy :D )) That Gatorade advert sounds pretty clever, shame i won't get to see it bein' here in the UK :/ On the reference side i've either gotta work up a sweat or go huntin' for sweaty men pics...neither is too appealin' lol....maybe i should start with Vik heh anyhoo...i'm gonna chill for a day or two before i start this and i'll keep y'all posted and maybe have a sneak peak mid/late next week Ever "why do my post always seem to go on for so long?" seer

Everseer ( ) posted Sun, 21 September 2003 at 6:21 AM

After workin' my main beta tester at an impossible rate, and after she tried everythin' possible in the p5 mat room it only left one possibilty....i tried it and it worked :D couple more tests and then a swap around and this should be available for Poser5 over the next few days ::does his triumphant dance:: heh Ever "i'm still not gettin' poser 5 though" seer
