Well, i finally got out shooting with that Pentax camera today. Went to a couple of parks by my friend's house. I got some nice pictures, posted 3 in my gallery tonight :) Anyway, when I scanned the pictures, the colors look a bit washed out. They are not as vibrant as they are on film. I only scanned at 200dpi, should I bump this up a bit? I toyed with them a bit in PS to try & get the colors a bit closer to the origionals, but, not much luck. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance :) Mercy

You scanned pictures or the film? If you scanned the film 200dpi is not enough by far. Even from picture you might need more informations (pixels) for good color corrections. or... Is your screen calibrated? (is black really black?) or... Do you let the scanner or scanner-application do any auto-corrections? If you have no professional scanner/scanner-application turn auto-corrections off. or... In PS: do the corrections for each channel (r,g,b) individually (Strg + L, then use the pull down)... or... try to correct the gradiation (strg + m) or...or...or... hope it helps a bit sascha

Thank you sascha! My monitor is calibrated, I try to make sure of that due to my digital art, it's very important indeed! I'm not sure if the scanner is doing manual corrections. I haven't had it very long or used it very much. It wouldn't work when I switched to win XP, finally got that resolved. So, I guess I need to fiddle with it a bit. I did play with the curves in PS a bit, still didn't get quite the results I wanted. Thanks again for the tips, I'm going to save them here on my hard drive and try them later when I scan the rest of my pics. Thanks! Mercy
