I've just noticed that posertoolbox has support for Mike/Viki3 I've been to the site looks brilliant, anyone know anymore? It seems to have everything mimic has plus a bit more? Looks worth buying.

We are activly building more and more model profiles into the product so that you allways get an accuratly targeted animation, you can build your own in about 5 minutes with the morph mapping function. Thanks for visiting, maybe you are more tempted to spend $49 !

So if I buy posertoolbox it will lip-sink and animate the head properly on any model I buy.. even if its a animal or dragon say?

Guys.. come on.. if it wasn't that there is a link in every damn post I wouldn't assume it's an ad but It is.. Product showcase is where it belongs.. Not here. Thank you.

DraX ( ) posted Sat, 27 September 2003 at 8:14 PM

I viewed those animations,, and honestly I expected more from a system that was created this late in the game, having available to it the examples set by it's predescessors.... I think that other applications result in MUCH more realistic aniamtions, and don't have as many strange anomilies in the way the lips move during animation... the victoria example is a prime one... during part of the sequence, her lips strangely wobble up and down, soemthing I haven't seen happen with Mimic. As per the multiple posts... the way the conversation is going back and forth with links from supposed customers leads me to believe that they are not in fact customers, but rather developers or friends of the development team. I don't want to see the Product Showcase argument occur again, but I will say this.... if I had to endure repeated aggression just from trying to post images of Michael 3 before his release, there's no way it should be okay for you to use multiple screen names to promote your product where it doesn't belong either. I can't think of one respected vendor in this community who goes out of their way to decieve their customer base and I feel it's wrong of you to try and do so.

And Drax show's that he(ehm she?) is more patient and more eloquent than i am :) and that wobble is annoying

Digger may or may not be affiliated with the company, but the back and forthing smacks much more of advertising than information. I agree, this is a Product Showcase thread. Carolly

... and furthermore, never, never give the customers the impression that you assume they are idiots. As a matter of interest, _digger joined only a few weeks ago and his only previous post was, to all intents and purposes, an inquiry into the potential size of the Poser market. I may well be wrong here, but I'd certainly stake shed loads of cash that there is indeed a direct connection between himself and posertoolbox. andrejacyshyn could well have been forgiven the first post on the grounds of ignorance, but this post is a deliberate charade. Not withstanding the grey areas in the definition of advertising, the ban on ads in this forum has arisen from the wishes of the members. Merchants who antagonise members of their customer base by flaunting this are wholly missing the purpose of promotions. Even without the TOS, true professionals would stick voluntarily to the Product Forum simply because that's what the customers want. As far as the product is concerned, this kind of thread will give nobody any confidence in your ability to deliver and support professional software. Bill

I agree this smacks of a chessy TV infomercial where the Blond chick "asks" questions of her co-host about the product and pretends to be amazed as he demonstrates the incredible features of the "pasta machine" etc. as for this lipsynch product ,I see NO major improvements in output over mimic2 :-/

Thanks for your vote of confidence as to my honesty people. Poser was recomended to me by a friend to help me with a college project, and as I don't have much money being a student and a newbie to animation, my first post to this forum was an attempt to find out how many poser users there was so I was not going to buy an iffy product, I see now I have somehow got a job with the toolbox people and am part of a world changing attempt to subvert the course of the poser forums. Thanks for you guidance, this is certainly a place I can be confident in coming to for impartial advice lol. I'm obviosly not in the clique and will revert to google for help in future.

DraX ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 10:38 AM

If, you weren't, in fact, promoting someone else's product in a manner consistent with Television Infomercials, your honesty never would have come into question. I don't spend much time when looking for help or advice going back and forth with links to a site over and over again ooh-ing and ahhing about a product that I have no affiliation with. Even when I offered previews of Mike 3 in the forums here, it was by no means able to be considered impartial because as a brokered artist at DAZ, I was in a position where, regardless of what I thought my reasons were, I would benefit from the sales of that product, and I knew it. (Opening up the market for products I was working on for Michael 3 by helping build the hype that would lead to more Michael 3 customers) If you come here and ask for help, I guarantee you will get impartial advice. You come here to promote a product under what appears to be a guise of deception, and that is by far another thing. So, if you claim to have so much honesty, allow me to ask you a very direct question. Have you had any personal contact with Andre Jacyshyn, be it email, PM, phone, in person, or otherwise, besides what we have seen directly in there forum posts? And a word of advise... guilt trips are not a means to gain the support or confidence of anyone. They instead are often used as a subversionary tool by those with a guilty conscience.

right for gods sake shall I hand out the pitchforks and torches now? the mob's organised for 1300 GMT. ... sigh I get so fed up with this. Why not just report the post to an ADMIN or MOD like they ask. or is the witchhunt and Mobbing just to much fun?

Stormrage ( ) posted Sun, 28 September 2003 at 1:57 PM

Kalibach I reported the post last night as you can see nothing has been done yet.

_digger ( ) posted Mon, 29 September 2003 at 12:51 PM

In reply to DraX i have had no contact with Andre Jacyshyn but maybe i should try and contact him. Get some money off of him for promoting his product! What do you think?
