Wallace Beery- a wonderful character actor face. He was also the classic "Treasure Island" peg-leg character with the parrot on his shoulder.Attached Link: http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/horror/boriskarloff/boriskarloff16.jpg
In keeping with Halloween- Boris Karloff. Can M3 be made to look like him?Attached Link: http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/horror/boriskarloff/boriskarloff4.jpg
Karloff's stock Hollywood actor portrait. Can M3's MESH handle DEEP SET eyes? It's only been less than a month since M3's release. Give it some time. In this day and age everybody wants instant gradification and they want it yesterday. If you have characters that you want for M3 why don't you buy M3 and start creating characters. There is already a Planet of the Apes M3 face morph in Freestuff here.

Vincent Price- Also another wonderful character actor. Too bad so few Mike characters feature that classic thin mustache look. It really helps to make a character look "classic" in my opinion.Attached Link: http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/westerns/leevancleef/leevancleef1.jpg
Lee Van Cleef- a little off the Halloween side- but a CLASSIC CHARACTER face if there ever was one! Is M3 up to this?Attached Link: http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/horror/belalugosi/belalugosi7.jpg
Back to Halloween- Bela Lugosi! This is a pre-Dracula and pre-werewolf movie- called "Mysterious Island" from the early 1930's.Attached Link: http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/dead/rondohatton1.jpg
Little known character actor Rondo Hatton. To my knowledge he didn't use special make-up. He actually DID look like that!Attached Link: http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/
Brian's Drive-In Theater- a great classic movie and especially B-Movie Photo Archive- And it isn't full of STINKING POP-UPS and SPAM ADS!Attached Link: http://host1.bondware.com/~syydr/catalog.ez?ShowProduct=SR%2DRD028&ParentID=24695
RuntimeDNA has some Mike3 faces that are definitely on the spooky side...not at all pretty boy. At $2.50 for the pak, they are extremely reasonable.Attached Link: http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/horror.html
Sorry about the Brian's Drive-In page. It works fine for me. But here are some direct links- maybe these will work for you- http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/horror.html http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/beefcake.html http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/superhero.html http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/westerns.html http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/filmnoir.html http://www.briansdriveintheater.com/tarzan.html Try pasting these into your browser, randym77, they are sub-website pages---In thinking about this whole M3 Marketing Scheme, it seems to me that a lot of M3 Characters could be sold if they looked like FAMOUS HOLLYWOOD STARS from the PAST. I emphasize PAST, as current pretty-boy stars have nasty lawyers. BUT- I doubt it if you would get hassled if you made Pretty-Boy characters based on Rock Hudson, Troy Donahue and a slew of others like that from the previous decades. They could be marketed as "Rock", "Troy" look-a-likes. The advantages are this- A good-looking, handsome character actor face would appeal to both male and females. I would buy them so that I could further "characterize" them with beards, mustaches, period-style clothes, etc. I often buy sexy looking Vicky clothes just because they look so $%#@ Sexy! However, I'm NOT going to buy sexy clothes for Mike so that I can look at his butt and play with the crotch zipper. I'm sure that DOES have appeal for some out there, but I'm one of those guys that wants COOL CHARACTERS and not boy-toys. Give the straight-buying Mike audience some really cool looking, (handsome or tough-guy), Movie-Star quality character faces and M3 would be a real appealing winner, I think. The rest of you can buy the ugly monster faces if you like, but that's kid-stuff, in my opinion.
Veritas. Take a deep breath. For one thing, not being homophobic? No, maybe not. Highly stereotypical? HELL yes. Just because SOME gay guys are feminine does not mean we're all skinny little prettyboy waifs, nore does it mean we all like them. M3 CAN go masculine, if you'd spend some time with the dials instead of ranting about how M3's gay. Further, your homophobia is dripping off your every word. "I'm not going to buy sexy clothes for Mike so that I can look at his butt and play with the crotch zipper. I'm sure that DOES have appeal for some out there, but I'm one of those guys that wants COOL CHARACTERS and not boy-toys.' ... Sounds pretty damn homophobic to me. Further, I resent the implication that all gay guys do IS stare at Mike's butt. Sorry. See enough of it in the real world, don't need to stare at the digitalized ass. Play with the crotch zipper? Maybe morph the dial some for some sex appeal, but that's for a picture. You know. Artwork. What Poser's supposed to be about, not 'teh hawt s3x0r' clothes for Vicki. Sorry. Someone had to respond to your insults. Now. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go bathe in lye.

M3 is a bit feminine when he comes out of the box, but the morphs that come with him butch him up quite a bit. He can be very masculine, but it takes some work. I REALLY agree with the need for more character variation. But not just with M3. Every model available needs more variation, and more options. I'd love to see a good morph set for the old B movie actors and actresses. M3 and V3 aould actually be better for this than other available meshes since they are a higher poly count and can be better worked with. I'd love a Marylin Monroe for V3, or a Tab Hunter for M3 (gotcha). I'd also love to see some good politcal characters. What I couldn't do with a G. W. Bush morph and texture... And I'll be nice and give Veritas the benefit of the doubt when he says he's not homophobic about this. I'm sure he meant "fairies" in the classic winged term. And I admit that I would like a gay-Mike. Something that can hold down any job, deal with any situation, and looks like anyone else. You know, like a human being.
I do agree that out of the box, Michael is far from the "Hollywood Hero" look. He IS very feminine looking. I'm sure some of the morph masters will come up with some more "stereotypical" male Herculian morphs for the poor guy. As it is, out of the box, he looks like a slightly more femine version of Neo from the Matrix who overdosed on the Atkin's diet. The poor guy's torso looks strangely disproportionate to his head. Just too freakin skinny. Who knows... maybe I'm just jealous because I can't dip below 13% bodyfat....sigh...
Same shit, different day. It would be totally amazing to see some people spend time working with a character and getting the results THEMSELVES instead of ranting about Mike being a pretty gay boy OOTB. I hear so many people whine (want some cheese with that!), yet not one of these people seem to have tried to get results themselves. Or tried for like 10 minutes then came to this site and ranted and raved. and why I haven't bought M3 yet Simply means you have NO IDEA of what M3 is capable of. BUT, I just think that to SPEND MONEY on a whole new M3- it had better have lots of COOL and GREAT character features, not just Fairies and Hollywood Pretty-Boys And who says M3 DOESN'T have cool and great new features?? You wouldn't know because you haven't bought him! ** if you made Pretty-Boy characters based on Rock Hudson** Can I just say WTF here. Rock Hudson is hardly a pretty boy. Which is kinda ironic really ;) The advantages are this- A good-looking, handsome character actor face would appeal to both male and females. I would buy them so that I could further "characterize" them with beards, mustaches, period-style clothes, etc. But why would you buy them? You don't even own M3. I'm one of those guys that wants COOL CHARACTERS and not boy-toys. I'll put it simply - instead of whining, go out and buy Mike 3 and do it your damned self. If it's so easy to do, as you seem to indicate, I'm sure you won't have a problem with it. I'm sure the 'straight buying Mike audience' would make you rich if you did so. Well said Khrys.
You go, Xena. I still say M3 is not so much feminine out of the box as just very young. He can be made to look older. Some people like boys. Some people like men. Some people like steroid muscleheads. Other people prefer rangy, lanky guys. Some people actually like a little roundness to a figure. Some people want only bone. M3 may not be able to do it all...but he seems capable of a lot. And I think Xena is right. It's hard to tell what he's capable of by just staring at the box. Invest in him or don't invest in him, but complain if you've tried him (and if you don't like him, Daz will refund your money). Then you'll have basis for your complaints.
Xena, you may just turn me straight, yet. You set my heart aflutter with your ranty, snarky words. ;) Ahem. On another note... Wasn't Rock Hudson gay, but married with kids and everything? As for the whole not buying m3? Don't buy him. I honestly don't care if Veritas buys him or not. No skin off my back, and if it makes him feel a little more secure in his masculinity, good for him. The rest of us will just be over here giggling at Mike's detatchable penis.

Just as there are a slew of Vickies (V1, V2 AND v3) with almost a non-existant nose and huge, punched-in-the-mouth lips and blank, low-IQ stares from almond shaped eyes, so too does the public-at-large seem to prefer young pretty boys (I'm not saying everyone, I just see what's in the MP). These figures can do what you want, it's just a matter of doing it. Remember big ol' neanderthal M2 became slim Stephanie. And I'm not a homosexual male (married female), but I am highly offended by your remarks all the same. Stereotypes disgust me and seem to be the by-products of the weak-minded. (Hey, I didn't say you are weak-minded... I'm speaking in stereotypes, same as you). Lhiannan <-Mold Breaker
Veritas, you seem to assume that Poser users are all male. A lot of us are female, you know. I don't want Mike to look like movies stars of the past. I would not buy him if he did. What I want is for Mike to be flexible enough to be anyone. Out of the box, he's not quite. But I fully expect he will be, soon enough, as people start posting morph packs.

And yet, no one has mentioned Lon Chaney Sr....? Scarab ********************************** Thanks Scarab! I found Lon Chaney, Jr., but not Sr. Yes, another great character actor! Not necessarily a great actor, but Basil Rathbone certainly had a great nose and profile. He will always be "Sherlock Holmes" for me. ********************************** By the way, some REALLY GREAT M2 characters I have purchased and love are: Borus's "Galaween & Valendel" To me Valendel is totally worth the price- one of the most HANDSOME M2 characters and great for further characterizing. and- Borus's "Mike Bond" He is also great as other characters, including with a pencil-thin mustache. Borus really has the magic touch with M2 faces, I think. also- Bought Arduino's "Wolfgang"- another great character face that can be modified for other characters. Haven't purchased it, but his V3 Amanda character looks pretty neat also- an older 55-60 year old lady character. Great work!!! Is M2 REALLY the BEST MIKE for Characters? Maybe so!Nice work, Dave-So! You are falling for my EVIL MASTER PLAN and getting people to show me what M3 can really look like! BRAVO! ********************************** Doug- 1. How does Borus get away with selling "Mike Bond"? Isn't the characture thing Fair Game? (I don't know- maybe some house lawyers know the answer to that?) And, 2. If some did do Hollywood Movie Star faces, they would NOT have to claim that it IS such-and-such movie star, just that it happens to LOOK LIKE such-and-such. Also, 3. How did Neftis get away with her "Digital Marilyn" I bought her the day she appeared. Did Neftis get sued? I think it is how you you go about it. As for Sturkwurk super-hero characters, which are also great, the problem seems there to be you are dealing with a franchise or syndication of an on-going character. Pretty hard to do that without licensing it. But would like to know the Digital Marilyn and Mike Bond stories- seems that they worked out fine from what I've heard.
answer, They havent been caught yet. Characters are hardly "Fair Game"... Just go out and try to make your own James Bond movie. I remember the stink over "Never say Never again", the studio had the rights to "Thunderball" and just remade it under a new title. Most Poser stuff is under the radar... or the owners don't see the point of going after someone, yet. I've had correspondance with a few folks and estates... Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Bella Lugosi Estate, Karloff Estate. I used to do work for "Flatt World Figures". My superheroes... see above. If you notice, the stuff I sell, in no way resembles any existing comic book characters. Never assume anything when dealing with copyright, intellectual property, or likenesses. but this is more for debate over at the copyright forum. Doug
I came, I rendered, I'm still broke.

It's like molding clay. Lyrra, it handles high meshes better than Poser does. It's /very/ easy to load the morphs back into Poser. It handles M2 and V2 well, also, though their lower-res meshes cause problems. It handles DinaV well, also, though I /still/ can't figure out how to fix her breasts to a smaller size. But that's just a personal issue that's my fault, not EM3D's fault. It was one of the BEST buys ever made for me. 70$ was... SO worth it.Kreations By Khrys
Oh YEAH!!! Capsces is making Boris 2!!! YES YES YES YES!!!! Hurry hurry hurry... I wwaaaaaaaaant it!

Wow being a trek fan I love the cardassian thanks khays. Now all you need is a good cardassian uniform (hint hint). As to making new characters for m3 having a dvd drive on your computer, or a dvd player, a vid card with capture ability, or a good vid capture program, and posers face room, and your all set. Along with a little tweaking here, and there of mikes morph settings... you are good to go. I'm in the process of doing a freddy kruger character for mike right now. In a learning curve as to the face room. Besides I needed an excuse to buy the first nightmare on elm street dvd anyway. Brad.
Attached Link: How many lights do you see?
Not sure what you mean with the Face room and Mike, since Mike isn't compatible with the face room. How do you do that?! And yes, Khrys' cardi morph is great :o) As for the uniform you're right, we still need that. I have tried and so far failed *LOL* making one. In the meantime I fake it, as you can see on the pic at the link. It's Khrys' morph :o)FREEBIES! | My Gallery | My Store | My FB | Tumblr |

............. To me DAZ has offered M3 as a "lightweight" character, which really disappoints me, and why I haven't bought M3 yet. M3 is obviously, out of the box, a more "feminine" character. I'm not against that kind of character, and I'm NOT being Homo-Phobic! Having a gay-mike for the gay folks out there is o.k. with me. BUT, I just think that to SPEND MONEY on a whole new M3- it had better have lots of COOL and GREAT character features, not just Fairies and Hollywood Pretty-Boys. I bought the extra "Ugly Ogre" type morphs for V3, but never used them on here. M3 would seem to be the best NEW creation to turn into a Wide-Range of DIFFERENT characters- that's what I was expecting from DAZ. They DO have some Ugly Orge-Monster Morphs for M3 available, but so far they haven't shown any REAL CHARACTERS, in my opinion. I'm not getting out my credit card for M3 until I can see REAL CHARACTERS! (And NOT just GOOFY and UGLY Monsters! That's Easy Stuff, I think. I'm talking about CHARACTERS!) As examples, I am posting some pics and links to some great Hollywood Character Actors- mostly because its getting towards Halloween Time and many Poser People like creating special Halloween characters and props for this season. I am hoping that M3 as a GREAT CHARACTER ACTOR emerges so that I can get excited about M3. Hopefully M3 has the MESH to do some great faces- or is he hopelessly "Pretty Boy" or morphed into "Butt-Ugly"? (Robert Mitchum- the prototype handsome Hollywood "Bad Boy" Can M3's face be made to look like Mitchum?)
