Subject: How can I apply a texture to the ground?

Easy. Ctrl-U (brings up Surface Materials) select GROUND from the drop-down, select LOAD and hunt down your texture.

You alos have to turn on the ground first. Hit ctrl-g and a square with the defualt ground will appear. make sure the display ground shadows option is off so its not grey-ed out.

(I sometimes write in 'shorthand.' You should hear me speak...) Yup. Mason's right. BTW, you can't 'tilt' the ground, but you can replace it with a one-sided square (imitation ground?) which can be tilted as needed.
