Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 30 8:14 pm)
I think it has to do with your file system. Can't imagine anything else. Maybe the disk format or the folder structure/names. I had trouble when i used names that my system (Mac) ayllows me but are not standard. And, don't move the program folders after havin them installed. Vue uses absolut file names! only my 2 cents!
One day your ship comes in - but you're at the airport.
Most things in xp pro come down to access rights and permissions, are these set right! just try loging into the administrator account and see vue works from there, if yes then set your access rights to the relevant fouldres, if no then sorry I do not know and will leave to others. Hope this helps. Videodv.
I don't think that these problems that you're having are Vue Pro related. Other things that can cause this are; - bad hard drive - messed up file structures - bad memory - conflicting video driver - an operating system that is messed up - other misc hard- or software problems I don't know how other programs are reacting, but even if they act normal, then still it might not be Vue Pro related.
Yves, Is 60C a CPU working temp or idle temp you refer to. AMD CPU's can withstand temps of around 75C, and most, if not all, modern AMD CPU motherboards now have automatic shutdown with the Temp set within the Bios settings. A far more accurate way of calculating CPU temp is to reckon that the CPU should run between 15C to 20C above the System temp (motherboard temp) for a properly ventilated system. This is because System temp gives a good basic indication of ambient temp (room temp). After all it is no good telling someone to keep theer CPU temp below 60C when they could live in a country that has a daytime temp of 40 - 50C ;-) One other thing, is to get a system monitor application that checks temps within Windows. Checking in the BIOS will give you no reading of what the CPU temp is "under load"...a time when heating issues may rear their ugly heads. Cheers

I had varying problems with my system that were driving me crazy. Very odd stuff. Then my system eventually failed to boot. I swapped components like and figured that it was the motherboard. After ordering a replacement motherboard and rebuilding everything. The new machine booted up fine and then started acting "flakey". The net result is the motherboard was fine - I had a bad processor on my dual processor system. This just showed me that instead of checking 90% of my components I should have checked them all. If you are reformatting and continue to have massive problems - - - I'd tend to blame a faulty piece of hardware before VUE or system software. In any event, I hope you solve your problem soon. At times computers can seem to be put on this earth only to drive people absolutely crazy. Keep sane . . . Allan Thornton
