heyas; you can import the conforming shoes' obj and then save it as a prop. that won't be useful as is, because the two shoes will be one thing. depending on how comfortable you are with the grouping tool, you can use that to break them into two pieces. (or, if you have another modelling app, you can do it there.) once you have two separate objects in poser, you can just save each to the prop library. in fact, if you position the suckers on your model's feet properly, and then parent them to the feet, and then save them, you can make smart props. when using the shoes, parent them to the feet and turn on 'inherit bends of parent.' this will even make them bend when you bend the toes and/or shin, just like conformers, without all the mess ;) just remember, when you load your smart-propped shoes, they won't remember they are bendy. you have to tell them to inherit the bends again. (just re-do the parenting deal.) if that was too sketcy for you, let me know, and i can go into details. :)
Well I looked all over for an option to save the shoes as props but couldn't find them - never thought of importing the obj directly and THEN saving. Another quicky then, before I head over to Poser (I'm using P5, but I've got P4 too if necessary). Luckily the shoes I'm thinking of are individual characters, so I won't have to split them. However, it's usually a royal PIA to get un-smart prop shoes to fit properly, so would it be possible to snatch information from the (conforming) cr2 file to move the obj pp2s into the correct position (more or less) before saving as smart props? OR, since I have Spanki's Mules (which are props and fit wonderfully), could I rob the data out of those PP2s? Thanx for the rapid response
heyas; it would be easier to just load the figure, leave it in the default stance, then import the shoe obj, and move the obj (which is now a prop) onto the foot, than to try to mess around reading data from the files and all. just, when you import it, uncheck 'place on floor,' 'center,' and '% of figure size.' once you position (and size, if you need to) them on the feet and save as smart props, then that information will be there the next time you load those props. if you really wanted to, you could load the mulie mule whatever things, copy them, then "paste" them (actually their info) onto the imported obj, but it may not come out as you expect, depending on where in virtual space each obj was modeled, and where the centerpoint ends up. once you smart prop them, all your positioning and sizing, and fitting worries are over. :)

I'm playing with Sarah Spriteling to recreate some cheesecake pinups from the 50's. SS should be especially good for this with her incredibly long legs :) However, it's almost impossible to keep her shoes on when the LL pose is applied (as noted in the readme, so I'm not disappointed or anything!). Now, I have prop shoes that are quite happy with the situation, its the character conformers that aren't. Since both file types refer to an .obj in the geometries folder, would it be possible to create a new pp2 referencing the obj from one of the cr2s so that I can use some of the excellent shoe packs available with sarah? I don't mind rolling my sleeves up and editing files by hand (I was a coder for 20 years) Thanks Dogsbody
