Subject: Question about Freestuff prop "Liquid 3D Set"

mondoxjake ( ) posted Thu, 23 October 2003 at 6:13 PM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 8:26 PM

Anybody else d/l this prop and figure out how to use it? There was no readme on how to use it, and I see now the file has been removed from the freestuff board. I can usually figure this stuff out, but this one has me stumped. It was created by Nekote and distributed via Terrace's site. The promo thumb made it look a bit like a 'kinky' prop, but I can see many more uses for it if I can figure how to work it!

hauksdottir ( ) posted Thu, 23 October 2003 at 6:59 PM

Is that the one with the Brussel's Baby (or whatever he is really called? The punster in me is trying hard to link fountains and little green vegetables!) I suppose it could be used for kinky stuff... but so could those females held in bondage. If that is marketable here, I don't see why a peeing baby based upon a famous statue should be pulled. 🤷 Carolly

hauksdottir, it's properly named "manneque pis". Yes, really.

Yes it is the one with the "pissoir" fountain statue, but it is just pictured as an example of use. I got it installed okay, but not sure what to do with it, or if the file is right. On auto-install by the paths in the zip it extracts all files including the object files. textures, etc., into the same directory...don't remember ever seeing that. There is a readme file but all it has in it is the usual distribution/commercial usage stuff.

Crescent ( ) posted Thu, 23 October 2003 at 8:23 PM

It was not pulled because of the manneque pis - it also featured women's nipples squirting liquid in the thumbnail. We had complaints about it, and I had to agree that the thumbnail was a bit over the edge. Had it been just the manneque pis, or if it had also featured things like a water fountain, etc., then it wouldn't have been an issue.

mondoxjake, I've seen that "scheme" before. Open the pp2 file in a text editor and see if it's properly pointing to it's referenced files...OR you might run CorrectReference on it.

mondoxjake ( ) posted Thu, 23 October 2003 at 9:23 PM

Thanks for the feedback, Crescent. I wondered about the thumb when I first saw it, but the "Notes/Requirements" mentioned other uses for the prop that sounded promising. Now that I know it wasn't pulled because of some copyright infringement or something I will keep trying to figure it out.

Its a propack thing ... Propack made things often have the obj in the item folder. This is incredibly annoying for classic Poser 4 users, as if you move the cr2 (et al) into any other folder it stops working. THen you have to edit the cr2 or use Correct Reference.

I was wondering how long it would be before someone complained ant it was pulled. It was posted at 3DC with a different thumbnail. Ironically, you really couldn't tell from that one what it was or might be used for, especially considering that the (Japanese) maker's description is understandably a little hard to understand. The 'R 'osity thumb was clear and explanatory - and inevitably offended someone so you can't win/ By default, the archive installs into it's own directory. You need to take the TENMO-C directory and place it and all its contents into your characters folder. It's unconventional but it does put everything conveniently in one place which I prefer. If you want to move things around, you'll have to edit the cr2s since the look for the obj file in that location. There are three figures included: First, the infamous burst figure. Hopefully I won't get banned for posting this. This includes two "milk" burst which conform to the default Vicky figure's nipples. There are morphs, including "spiral," and positioning morphs to move the bursts left, right up and down. The direction of the streams can also be adjusted individually. From my limited use the main problem would seem to be that they are preset to the default nipple positions so breast morphs may require manual adjustment and parenting rather than conforming. Also, I did not see a way to adjust the distance between the two streams. They work perfectly with the default breasts however. I'm sure you can play with the color and transparency settings to achieve a variety of effects.

Second is a set of nipple "caps." They also conform to the default Vicky nipples and would presumably present the same problems with breast/chest morphs. These are a unique and definitely fetish oriented item. Each "cap" has afolding plastic tab type plug with a morph for opening it. Presumably, you can use them in conjunction with the mllk burst figure. There are two material zones, one for the cap and one for the base. The bases (labled Non-Clear L & R) can be made transparent or set to a different color from the caps. Strangely, as supplied, one base is pink and the other is yellow by default. I imagine these items would look spiffy with a metallic reflection. You could alos possible incorporate them as part of a vinyl/leather/pvc fetish type bra.

well it didn't bother me when I approved it .. shrug Thought it wasn't in the best of taste, but there are those who want this sort of thing. The other props included are quite useful though. However it appears that the thumbnail bothered some people and it was removed. Silly, but there you go. I do hope the maker reposts it with a different thumbnail ... Lyrra

The third item included in the package is the SplashFX figure which is essentially a single standalone version of the milk burst. By default, the figure loads on or near the floor and since it is so small, it can be a bit difficult to locate initially. It includes similar morphs to the milk burst and there are several materials which allow setting the color, transparency etc. to suit your needs. It could be used to produce a variety of liquids like water spraying from a leak in a pipe or even other non-liquid effects. With suitable coloring you could probably produce anything from blood spurts to other bio-fluid applications, limited only by your imagination and the TOS limitations of various Poser sites. It's certainly the most versatile part of the package as the other two are clearly rather special purpose. If the package is gone from here, it may still be available at 3D Commune. I'm sure the maker didn't intend to offend anyone, probably just the cultural difference. Americans do tend to have a greater tolerance for spurting blood than milk I suppose :-)

Deleted the "caps" illustration by mistake so here's a more discrete version anyway.

Well, as far as I know :o) women's breasts produce milk when a baby sucks on them. And also when not - I've seen my wife's breasts shoot right over the baby's head when the pressure is high. How on EARTH could this offend anyone? .... :] Fish

Dale B ( ) posted Fri, 24 October 2003 at 10:05 AM

'Tis far easier to be offended at the actionsattitudesbehaviors of another, than it is to deal with one's own internal issues. Glad I got this one before it went bye-bye. =Lots= of uses for fluidic props outside of blood, semem, and breastmilk. And those caps are ideal as tops for 'sports drink' bottles. Think about it...

catlin_mc ( ) posted Fri, 24 October 2003 at 1:23 PM

Does this mean that this prop is no longer available? I was thinking about d/ling it but thought I'd wait until I had my scene set up and now it's...........GONE! Catlin

Thanks for all of the great feedback, gang...and especially to lmckenzie for detailing the useage. The problem with all of this 'censor-upset' stems from the same thing we have in business, sports or anything...the 3D community is a melting pot of cultural and ethnic perspectives...each with a different viewpoint of what is acceptable. And on the other side of the coin is the psychological/religious babel, when people see something that stirs up thoughts they feel they need to suppress...remove the cause and the 'mind warp' goes away. Blessed is the person who can look at something they find distasteful, shake their heads and say, "Oh well, to each his own", and leave it at that.

lmckenzie ( ) posted Fri, 24 October 2003 at 4:58 PM

Right, Dale B. the caps would be perfect for a bottle. They do come as a pair though so you'll have to figure out how to delete one and still keep the open morph if you want it to be functional. You could also use it as the air vent on a blow up doll I suppose - more kinkiness, true but creating a blow up morph figure would be a nice challenge for someone. Fishnose, your "high pressure" account is priceless. No wonder some places don't want women breast feeding in public - it could be hazardous to bystanders :-) I suspect that the main thing that rubbed someone the wrong way about the thumbnail was the fact that she was squeezing her nipples to expel the milk. A good old fashioned breast pump might have been OK but that looked too much like she was performing a non-essential function that might conceivably be fun I suppose. If you visit Terrace's site, be sure to get the Terra scene. It's a really nice cyclorama type environment prop.

!!! =Damn= the lack of breathing morphs on nigh onto every model! Clothify Judy over a couple hundred frames, render to stills and compile in reverse order, and you'd have your lovedoll inflating! But it would be no -fun- without the inflator having to work for it! >:)= As for the expressing of milk being 'fun'.... Maybe so, but talk to those who nurse about the consequences of -not- clearing the ductwork regularly. =Not= pleasant.

Thanks to everyone. LIQUID Product development My friend NEKOTE was studying it about SplashWater. Depending on the rendering of Poser4 the expression of water was difficult. I thought of that, is not transparent and make white. If it is white it is Milk. I am not existing now, if there is not mother's milk. Deeply I am thanking for mother. Thumbnail, the fact that caused several persons to, unpleasantness I am Sorry Then, it will try to do RePost with this thumbnail. I hope that 3D, evolves. Machine translation by Terrace

I'm glad I grabbed it before it vanished .I got it installed ok with a little thought..I have Poser4. It does take a little bit of experimenting to figure out just how to get the best use from it, but If a dummy like me can figure it out, I'm sure most should be able to. As for the thumbnail being pulled..I would have prefered that it be left. But, seeing it HAS been pulled...maybe the originator could repost with a less..??Obvious?? thumbnail ?
