After that my sister, who's horse it was, told me you kind of have to get them to move in a small circle to distract them while cinching (I guess horses can't walk and chew gum at the same time). Of course the horse stepped on my foot while doing so (or I stuck my foot under his hoof) and it took my big toe nail off, but then, what do I know, I am (was) basically a big city boy. No ill feelings towards that horse, he was only being a horse and I Still love horses. btw EdW, great looking saddle and harness, can't wait... Walter
Well, I can't blame the horses much. Much. If the rider can't outwit a "dumb animal" s/he deserves to be the one under the saddle! Do any of you remember a cartoon strip of the old west called "Tumbleweeds" where the large oafish muleskinner goes around hand-carrying his mule? ;^) There was the one incredibly funny moment where Hildegard Hamhocker is carrying her new fiance Knuckles and the muleskinner is carrying Beverly... and they meet in the street. Hmm... I think I'm going to spend the evening with a nice mug of cocoa and the book of collected strips. Carolly
Thanks all I should have these available on my site this afternoon. Carolly.... the morph for the saddle would be no problem :) Now it's a different story for the horse...... I might just do it for sh*** and giggles. The ole untrack the horse and check the cinch again has gotten more than one person planted on their butt. Veritas..guslaw.... didn't you guys know that it is genetically ingrained in a horse to step on your foot any chance they get:) Their eyes looks back for a reason.... and it's not to see what's behind them.
