Hi, for some reason I can read the posts on the Carrara e-groups list but can't post. Figured I'd try here. If some one who is also on the egroups list has the time could they forward the url to that list? Anyway here it is: kind of big: 195k http://www.tbns.net/waynehk/ops.htm comments welcome Thanks mdc

Hi again MDC, Ok, I'm slow on the take tonight. You can't post messages with attachements to the e-groups list. However, you can place the image on the site by going to the "file's" portion of the list (it will be in the left hand margin) you can ad to a folder or create a new one. Then in the body of your e-groups message you can reference that file. BTW, beautiful work man! Mark

Nice image MDC, is it that much easier, faster, better or cheaper to create the model in Rhino then in Carrara?

mdc ( ) posted Tue, 08 August 2000 at 12:05 AM

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Mark, I can't post anything to egroups at all, I changed my user profile and all I can do is read the mail at the e-groups web site now. No posting & no email sent to my box. I saw Garry in the chat channel and he is looking into it. willf, Carrara's modelers are ok (rds4 was my first 3d app), once you get the basics down in rhino you (IMO) will not be happy modeling in C anymore. It is easier, faster, better and can be cheaper, if you can buy with a student discount. If you any specific questions about the 2, post them & I'll try to answer with what I know. later mdc

Hmmmmmmmmmm, I find that waving a dead chicken over my monitor while dancing in a counterclockwise circle always cures that kind of problem on my system. :) (unless the moon is full that is)

Nice image. Great detail. I hadn't thought about using less dense shadows as opposed to soft shadows; I'll have to try that! I've found that being naked while dancing with the chicken counteracts the full moon effect.

Chip, Yea...WOW! I thought I was the only one. It does counter act it! LOL! Mark - You done a bad thing, getting us started on this! ;) Clint

I find that getting someone of the opposite sex to do the naked chicken dance fixes a whole lot more than just your computer. Keith
