Subject: Anyone know how to parent items?

Yet another problem that seems so simple but is so annoying. I have made a (bit crappy) pair of specs for the AnimeDoll. I have imoported the obj at the right size and they fit her perfectly. Now i just want them to move with her head! I have done the usual 'Set Parent' but it doesn't work! In fact if the Animedoll is the only character in the scene then parenting the glasses to her makes her fly off at an angle - heavens knows why? If the Animedoll is not the first character in the scene (ie I loaded her clothes first) then Parenting the glasses to her head seems to work - until you move her head when they stay where they are. I have parented things before - and this is what the manual says to do - what on earth is the problem? Any help gratefully recveived!

I don't have the Animedoll, but when I parent things, I go to Object(I think that's it, don't have Poser open)>Change Parent>and then would select Head in this case. Another thing to do would be open the Hierarchy Window (under Window, I think) and drag'n'drop the specs prop onto Head of Animedoll... and just a thought, maybe you should save the specs obj to the Props library and then load from there as a Prop? Once again, theories. Lhiannan

That is exactly what I have done - including the saving as a prop bit first. It just don't work like everything else does. Oh, well, guess I will have to keep trying. Thanks anyway Ihiannan

first make sure you are on frame one. Then import the prop. THEN PARENT THE prop using object change parent. THEN position the prop on the head. It works every time. Just make sure you are on frame one and you parent before you position the prop.

I got fed up with it and just hacked the line in the Prop file so it works fine now. Everything else worked fine just this bloody prop! Thanks for all your help guys anyway.
