Subject: Curious issue with posettes eyebrows

Hey all, was wondering if someone could lend me some help here. I am creating a tex for posette and i keep getting some dark lines under her eyebrows. They dont show up in the tex, and i have no other tex's loaded (bump's, etc.) Ive tried changing colors around and what not, still no go, any ideas anybody?

The lines are caused by the basic mesh. You would need to change the mesh to smooth the area using a magnet (morph) or an external modeler. cheers, dr geep ;=]

well everything ive tried so far has been for naught. Either it accents the black areas (#2) or the tex map gets streched (#1) Anybody got any ideas?

In #1 ... if you modify the mesh, you need to also redo the UV map with the "new" (modified) object, i.e., the head. The old map with the "new" head may cause the stretching that appears in #1. cheers, dr geep ;=]

As Geep suggests, you could flatten the eyebrow mesh to reduce the shading at the edges or you could alter the lighting to reduce it or you could just fix it in post. What you are seeing is the geometry of the eyebrow which was designed back in the days when textures were not very realistic. In more modern figures, The eyebrow is normally transmapped so you don't see the edges of the elevated mesh, but see thru them to the underlying head mesh. Unfortunately I don't think that the P4 figures have any mesh under the eyebrow so if you transmap the eyebrow you see a hole where the head mesh should be.

Actually this is an issue of the high light on the alpha. You need to either eliminate any hilight on the eyebrow or match it perfectly with the underlying geometry.

I don't think this is the transparancy issue because Posette has no mesh under her eyebrow, so you can't transmap the eyebrow without seeing into her skull. eeek!

Wonder if anyone has made a prop or something to correct this issue? hmmmm........
