Okay, I got the special free fonts and the balloons and I assumed they go into the windows fonts folder right?? I checked the Adobe Photoshop folders and there is NO place to put these there. Now, when I got into Photoshop I thought I can use these but they are NOT there??? I tried other programs too but I don't see them?? Yeah, I did reboot. I am stumped sigh

try maybe this... go to settings-->Control Panel --> Fonts in there go to File...install new fonts.... Point to the Directory that the font is in and install... Jarek

The two ways I've done speach and sound effects is speech gets added to the image in postproduction. For sound effects I've added actual letters turned into either 3DS or DFX (depending on what prog I have at the time). Having a character trip over the actual "THUD!" sound a different character makes when hitting the gound is a great sight gag.

First: I don't want to start any kind of PC vs Mac war! yawn! I'm just curious ... Are you talking about TrueType-fonts? On a Mac such fonts you only have to drop onto the system folder. The OS then places them into the font directory where they belong, and you can use the new fonts in any application without restart. Only apps which where running while you installed the fonts have to be restartet. I've never had any problems with fonts - except damaged ones. ... AND I've never heard about serious problems with installing TrueType fonts on WinPC's. ;-) - wal

Two ways: 1) Drop the TTF files into Windows/FONTS. This may or may not work depending ont the version of W98. 2) Open Start>Settings>Control Panel>Fonts. Drag and Drop the files news from Windows Explorer into the now open Fonts window.
