Trying to ceate a pic in Bryce which requires a small bit of modeling in Amapi,problem is whatever i make in Amapi won't render as solid in either program,see screen shot. What am i doing wrong????? Cheers GG.

Huh. Difficult to say from this one screen. What operations did you use to create the shape? Are the polygon normals reversed? Whatever? Anyways, the Amapi forum should have more answers.

Yeah, I'll bet you have your normals reversed, for some reason it's easy to do with Amapi.

If that's the problem; that your normals are reversed... (gosh... that doesn't sound quite right... *lol*), then reverse them with UV mapper. If you don't have it, you can obtain a free version by clicking on the link. :)

hmm..another possibility is that Amapi (older versions, anyway), converted models to .dxf, which looks rather insubstantial in Bryce..but they show up.

I have Amapi6, and export as obj or 3ds, and so far everything -except- imported profiles that are extruded, render solid in either program...I would definitely ask in the Amapi forum...

You could Be onto the problem there Zhann, the object in the screen-shot was drawn then extruded to what it is now. I do have a post in the Amapi Forum but I think they sleep a lot over there,it's nowhere near as active as the Bryce one.I will try and make what I want without extruding and see how that works out. Go in and import your profile again and before you extrude, zoom in reeeeeaaallly close to make sure all your lines are connected, snap to point on any that aren't, then weld it together. Then when you extrude, it will ask if you want to close the ends, or they will appear red, validate, and then render, the object should be closed and solid. OMG, I'm actually giving modeling help, what is the world coming too, LOL....:)

If you are having problems getting the mesh to show up, you could change the family color to black. That makes it easier to work with.

Seven of Eleven, Kiwi is not getting a solid object from Amapi when rendering. The above steps in Amapi should give a solid object to export. And then it will be solid in Bryce as well...:)
