Sorry for the last post... :) Anyway, yesterday i got a tip that my images were being used for these CDs, and apparently, im not the only one. Ive spotted EYECONs work as well. (sorry man) The asshole responsible for these illegal CDs are german and unfortunatly i havent been able to locate his page...yet, but ive found images of several of the covers on another webpage. If anyone spot a webpage dealing with these CDs, ild appreciate it.

Looks like a lot of Bryce / Poser made covers... Which one uses your images?

omg, thats quite retarded. bah i hate people----i dont think the cd's are even legit, looking at how many of them there were. oh well---i'll keep my eyes open, but until then good luck...

bazze ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2003 at 10:04 AM

I think they are legal. The one publishing these collections is: "Warner Music Group Germany Hol (Wsm)"

Search the web for "Deep Dance" and web pages in German. You will find a lot of these CD's.

Well, there is a legit series called Deep Dance, however these are ripped compilations for less talented DJs. Theres apparently an idiot fanclub called Mix Point, and so far ive only seen shut-down pages where they deal with these CDs. But the guy on a Swedish Graphics Forum, that tipped me in the first place, noticed "Dawn" on their new release. Still trying to get a URL from him. Im not a big fan of RIAA, but if i get a URL and a name, ill be pointing them in that direction...at least they have the means to act. ...and these f...s will pay in one way or another...

Is it possible to determine the ISP of this site. A C&D request letter should be sufficient to have it pulled. You might be able to get the offenders info from their domain registration.

Pass no temptation lightly by, for one never knows when it may pass again!

derjimi ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2003 at 12:06 PM

The above guy is only showing the covers, not creating or distributing it. Anyway, he has copyrighted Material (your works as Cover) on his webpage. Snip from: Denic.de (Domain registration service germany) ---------------------------------- Domain hoster: Mark-Tim Junghanns Vangerow Internet Services Vangerow System Werkstaetten Industriestrasse 18 72585 Riederich Germany Phone +49 7123 9387 0 Fax: +49 7123 9387 654 E-Mail: mjunghanns@vangerow.de Domain holder (the guy who builds that weppage): Domain: meiselsworld.de Markus Meissner Juchtlenstrasse 31 72124 Pliezhausen Germany ---------------------------------- So you can both contact the owner/ builder of that page or his ISP which hosts it. That will not help against distributing these CDs though. J.

derjimi ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2003 at 12:09 PM

If you want to, I can send the webmaster - obviously a young german guy - a mail and demand to delete these covers. I'm german, so the language is no problem for me. Ok? J.

MadDog31 ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2003 at 12:21 PM

Jesus, he sure didn't hide the fact he was using them...Rochr's art stuck out like a sore thumb...unbelievable. :( MD

Rochr ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2003 at 12:23 PM

Derjimi, Thanx a lot for the info pal! :) I did find a mail adress in the page source, (markusmei@web.de), and have sent a message, giving him a few days to delete the images. However, i think a message in German would be a lot better, and if you have the time to send him one, ild be most grateful. :)

Rudy, look at the bright side of life: your works a so fantastic everyone wants to have and use it. ;-)) Just kidding. Vielen Dank, Daniel Pxxx im Auftrag von R. Herczog ---- Sorry, I'm to lazy to translate it. I ask for deleting in the next 48 hours mainly. Take care, Jimi

derjimi ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2003 at 1:29 PM

Don't overrate this guy. As I said - he was only collecting the covers and has nothing to do with the creator of the compilations, I think. Personally, I don't know how I'd react when I would see a work of mine as a cover. I think I'd be proud in first place. But it can be annoying to see your own work spread everywhere I guess. I don't know that feeling. ;-) But you're right - copyrights are needful and important.

Rochr ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2003 at 1:52 PM

Yeah, he seems innocent enough, and hes not my big problem, its the people releasing the CDs. Must admit though, that according to everything ive read when searching for the cds, was that they are a limited release, and thats nice, not acceptable, but at least theyre not pumpin out millions of copies. Now, what if it was one of the BIG record labels. Im pretty sure they wouldnt want to pay either, and they have an arsenal of lawyers... I actually closed my webpage gallery last night when i found out, but i think im going to re-open it again. However, im going to resize the images there first and also delete some of the galleries. At least they wont get anything useful from that page.

Means I won't get to see what he was doing. Good result though. Guess he didn't want to mess with the R'osity crew. Smart guy. :-) I notice he's got a message on his page saying he'll remove anything that's copyright. Was that there earlier, or an addition since he removed Rudy's pictures?

That was there earlier. That "disclaimer" is always found on these sites. So they can "prove" that they don't mean to harm copyrights. Who needs to state that he removes copyrighted material on request when he don't fear it? You need to know to even excuse before someone's accusing. Means (sorry for my bad english): if he doesn't fear and know it, he wouldn't put that disclaimer on his homepage... J.

I'm very sorry to hear that people are stealin your work, bu tI hop ethis dont' deter you from posting it here to let us all have a jaw dropping gander at it.

Vile ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2003 at 6:53 PM

Let me say this first I would want at least to be mentioned or asked to use my work as most anyone would. With that said let me continue

Like anyone would use you art work Zhann! (JK) ;) Geez U guys I would have felt flattered!

I will say this again. If you do not want your art used post lower format images here and host your own web page and place water marks on them. I know its rude and more then illegal but honestly I am not surprised are you? No offense Rochr your stuff is just so fantastic what do you expect?

Now had a created something I was getting paid for (not as a hobby) and someone RIPPED it off then that is a different story, but again I would ensure that this would be harder to do.

Quest ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2003 at 8:49 PM

I would have loved to have seen the look on his face when he got the emails in 2 different languages. He must have turned ghost white! Good! It serves him well! Rochr, they didn't take you into consideration when they snatched your work and have probably made money on it so I think you shouldn't hesitate to get the RIAA involved or anyone else for that matter. Perhaps even getting the word out to those lesser DJs would help to put the fire on their ass. Just makes me sick!

d_hood ( ) posted Wed, 26 November 2003 at 10:17 PM

If his picture was at that website, what about other websites? I'm not surprised and I would be willing to bet that Rochrs work is plastered all over the net.

Zhann ( ) posted Thu, 27 November 2003 at 6:02 AM

There are some online law clinics where they can tell you where to start. Or you can use the yellow pages or post in the Community Forum, there might be a lawyer or two here at Rosity, Admin may be able to steer you in the right direction. If I were you I would definitely persue this, artist's get big bucks for doing cover art in the music industry, not to mention illegal use of a copyrighted work.
