Also do some that you really like with a 'solid' render, I did a bunch for my desktop, they are very cool.....

Point to note: If you really like a particular attractor, save the image then go and save the attractor with the same name, that way you have reference, and you can render it differently, while still keeping it intact....tweak it and not worry that it's gone, I noticed there's no -undo-.....

Ornlu ( ) posted Sat, 06 December 2003 at 9:33 AM

Cool, I don't know much about fractals, is there any good tutorial that could teach me how to create things like above. I've tried but I can't get anything to show up. Thanks in advance.

Yes, I did several terrains yesterday, and saved all my attractors (under the names of the things they resembled -- like dolphin and flower). The one thing I didn't try was volume mats. Maybe today. If I can climb out from under all the work I DIDN'T DO yesterday. I had so much friggin fun yesterday I have a hangover today!! A chaoscope hangover.

Slakker ( ) posted Sat, 06 December 2003 at 11:25 AM

so...how do you add color to it?

rickymaveety ( ) posted Sat, 06 December 2003 at 11:32 AM

You either render it in light or plasma. Pick out your attractor; Then hit F3 a few times till you get something you like Then rotate it around in the screen a bit until you like the view Then choose your render mode (gas and liquid are gray scale, light and plasma are color) Then hit F4 and render.

I could keep this up forever, lol, but I'll give you guys a chance. Oh, and Ornlu, just keep moving the sliders until you turn up with something. You could feesibly follow some mathmatic formulas, but its much easier and much more fun just to wing it, lol.

rickymaveety ( ) posted Sat, 06 December 2003 at 3:24 PM

No no no no ... CryingWold, it's all ZHANN's fault. She's the one that posted the app first. I just started playing with it first.

Ornlu, also try zoomin 'in' or 'out', I have a roller on the middle of my mouse and it works as a zoom, wasn't till I fooled around with it that I found they were faaaar away and really tiny sometimes, or just hit F6 to adjust the view, and then to center Shift+F6, that will bring them to the forground and center them so you can see them.... I spent 12 hours doing these things, and had to ask them if at some point we would be able to export them as 3ds or obj. Waiting for a reply.. AND there is a pro version of this app available too! See link above...

CryingWolf ( ) posted Sat, 06 December 2003 at 7:34 PM

I knew it was somebody's fault, just not mine, that we are not getting any sleep. See what you started Zhann. Checking out the pro version website to see what else we can do?
