I downloaded three times both archives; this is more than 100 Mb and a lot of time :( Some recommendation? Tanks

I would contact E-ON for this issue. Sounds like there might be something wrong with their update.

Thank you James for your response and link.

Hopefully they will have the answers. Usually when you get the corrupt archive or truncated error, it is a problem within the file itself. Hope you will get it fixed soon. Sorry I could not be of further help. James Vue Coordinator

By looking at your screen shot, the two files are ~28KB and 708KB. I don't know what they're supposed to be, but I suspect they are supposed to be larger than that (you said 100MB for three times download?).

Truncation may be caused by the server (e-on) or your ISP.

enax ( ) posted Fri, 05 December 2003 at 12:49 AM

21948 Kb, this is 22 Mb and my ISP works very very well, thanks

karlm ( ) posted Fri, 05 December 2003 at 12:56 AM

Sorry, I'm used to the British/North American convention where '.' denotes a decimal point. However, I would not assume it is not your ISP. Corruption in a large file download can occur in many places along the pipeline and, unfortunately, can be very hard to diagnose (assuming you are the only one with the problem).

Enax is not alone....I get exactly the same error. Standard e-on.

Oh my, is that the update for Vue Pro? Sharen

MixedNut ( ) posted Fri, 05 December 2003 at 5:27 AM

Well...sorta. It's a beta for us betatesters.

Unfortunately we all had a corrupted download. Please download again. It's OK now:-) Guitta

MixedNut ( ) posted Sat, 06 December 2003 at 3:38 AM

Hmm - the RenderCow setup does not seem to actually do anything. I run the setup file and it does nothing! Anyone having the same problem? Or am I missing something here?

jwhitham ( ) posted Sun, 07 December 2003 at 11:58 AM

The main update file updated my cows, both on the local and remote machines, didn't have to run a separate cow update. Maybe yours are already updated?

enax ( ) posted Sun, 07 December 2003 at 12:08 PM

As Guitta said now the file is correct. Thanks. @jwhitham: I get the same message installing RenderCow. How could I know if I have it updated? Thanks.

jwhitham ( ) posted Sun, 07 December 2003 at 12:26 PM

Enax, sorry, meant to direct that reply to MixedNut, who seems to be trying to run the rendercow update separately. I don't think that should be neccessary, providing the main update succeeded, it certainly wasn't on my LAN.

MixedNut ( ) posted Mon, 08 December 2003 at 4:40 AM

Thanks jwhitham, that might explain it - I'll try looking into it!

Dale B ( ) posted Mon, 08 December 2003 at 9:09 AM

If your main update was a success, -and- your HyperVue manager is stable, then it isn't neccesary. That was a work-around to deal with the unintended build that was put on the Pro release CD. HyperVue wouldn't find the installed Cows, and doing a manual run was the only way around that.

MixedNut ( ) posted Mon, 08 December 2003 at 10:25 AM

Hi, Dale - so you're saying I don't need to update my external cows if they seem to be working? Nothing has changed? Hmm...my cows do work rather well at the moment (after I discovered that strange port thing), so I wouldn't want to jeopardize anything..

Dale B ( ) posted Mon, 08 December 2003 at 2:27 PM

If they ain't broke.... No, so long as VuePro can find all your cows, it will run the update automatically. It's just a matter of the fact that you -can- do it manually, if the main app is acting up. If there was a needed update in the beta pack, then when you run HyperVue, it will update all the cows it finds. Mine haven't, so I'm assuming the Cows are stable at the moment, and the fixes all involve the main program....
