Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 26 2:05 pm)
I'm new to Vicky 3.0 too. However, I think I know the answer to this. In addition to MAT poses that inject morphs, you also have MAT poses that remove morphs. I don't think there is a one-click way to remove all unused morphs, so you might have to do them individually (or in groups as provided by the MAT files). There is a dial-cleaner utility available from DAZ (for free) that will take away the unused dials, but I haven't used this yet.
What you are supposed to do? Spawn a new morph for every group that you have morphed. Name the new morph PBMCC_01 instead of shape1 if you want to make an injection of them. Open the settings for each part of the morph and change the dial name and set the max to 1.0 and the min to 0 Name it after your character if you don't want to make injection poses. Use the REM all morphs. Save the cr2 and you can copy the new morphs into a shell pose file and use this file as a character injection. Keep this CR2 and use it directly, just set the new morphs to 1.0 and put back in the expression morphs and any fix morphs you need - like no nipples, shoe fit. A character can not be much smaller than this.
If you have a DAZ PC membership, you can also buy the Injection Pose Builder application ($1.99). It allows you to save you figure as a pose file with just the necessary morphs. Next time, load an empty V3, apply the pose file and it will inject the necessary morphs (nothing more) and apply the dial settings, all in one click. A great help! Also a great way to distribute a V3 character without copyright implications, since the receiver must own the necessary morph for the pose file to work.
Also magnets cut down on file sizes. Volup Vicky 3 uses magnets and I've managed to get nearly the same shape using those as I have with my v2 figure and nearly the same file size. Plus magnets allow you to form the clothes to the shape in most cases. This way you don't need MTs at all except maybe expression MTs. But the making of a single MT for each part then stripping out of all other MTs is the other way to go. My v2 figures have just one FBM for their shape.
Great--thanks to all--things are much clearer to me now. I guess my biggest problem was that I was under the mistaken impression that the morphs would only add to the file size if you actually used them, but I now understand that they're loaded into the file whether you fiddle with the knob or not. (Newbie mistake, I know.) Thanks for setting me straight.

(Poser 4 Pro, Vicky3) I'm new to the V3/Injection morphs world. If I understand correctly, the more morphs/dials you've got, the bigger the file. How do you limit the amount of morphs and/or remove unused morphs once you've built your character?
Thanks
