hi all! i am having some trouble intalling the upgrade Tailor 1.5.....i have Tailor 1.03 and 1.1 installed already.....i finally decided to shell out 10 bucks for the 1.5 upgrade but it won't install....heres what happens: 1. I run the 1.5 installer...and it does its thing. 2. when the small popup window that says on the title bar "Poser 4 Found" shows up, there's a message below that says "One of the required files could not be found...(or something like that)" 3. i hit OK then another window appears and i click on "Next"...the installation stops. 4. Another box that says "When the correct files are found the installation will continue.....(or something like that)" what could be going on? please help.... thanks very much in advance. =)

Well, the Tailor upgrade has a "sniffer," which looks for evidence of the previous version. It didn't find the previous version, so it would not finish the install. Do you see any chance to browse to the location of your previous Tailor installation? If so, point the "sniffer" in that direction.

The only way I could get it to work, after some HD jiggling, was to install the released-in-error 1.5 update, then run the real one. Something is screwy, but I've no idea how you will get around it since you don't (I assume) have the earlier, unintentional patch. Try emailing DAZ technical support, if they have any attention to spare from D|S, and let us know if they have a solution. As far as I recall I didn't have this problem when I first installed the update.

thanks RHaseltine. Bobbie_Boucher: yea i thought of that...the problem is the "sniffer" doesnt give me the option of pointing it to the right direction....once you start the installation it does things on its own..... thanks again guys. i'll email DAZ. =)

Try upgrading from version 1.03, instead of 1.1. Thats what I had to do, it wouldn't install over 1.1 for me either.

I found the latest version of Tailor didn't show the new features until I uninstalled Tailor, then reinstalled from scratch. DAZ apparently wasn't aware of this problem.

I had a problem installing as well, but I got it to work. I had to install the version I bought at renderosity. Then I tried to go to 1.5 and it said the correct file wasn't found. I then installed the upgrade to 1.1 that I got at DAZ. I tried to install again. Said the correct file wasn't found. I gave up and was going to contact DAZ. But I rebooted and tried again and that time it found the file. I guess after I tried to run it the first time and it didn't find the correct file, it kept something in memory that told it not to continue, but when I rebooted, something got flushed.

bwldrd WHOOHO!! i followed your advice bwldrd and it worked! I got 1.03 a while back and i had to look for it on my old backup CD-Rs......im lucky i found it! its good i didnt turn that CD-R into a coaster.....but ye, i found it and deleted my 1.1 and installed 1.03......installed 1.5 and it found "the necessary file" 1.03 isnt available for purchase at DAZ anymore.....i wonder if i didnt find it would DAZ have given me 1.5 full version for free? hmm....i just occured to me...... but anyway, thanks bwldrd (and others) for your advice! with this kind of support, who needs DAZ technical support team? also, who would need Curious Labs Support? I must've emailed CL tech support many times when I first got Poser 5 and, whew, i tell ya, they "helped" me a lot! nothing short of vague/short tech emails......most of the real and useful tech advice i got from you guys here at Renderosity forum!! i don't even bother with DAZ, CL, Eovia tech support anymore, and havent for a long time now...actually, i think they should do (just a fantasy) is slash their tech support departments, and the money they will save they can use in research and development to improve their products' features!! cause with Renderosity forum in exsitence, its like having your personal tech support team 24/7!! just a fanstasy i have...... thanks again guys!
