Subject: a perfect Posette?

kayarnad ( ) posted Mon, 15 December 2003 at 12:18 AM · edited Sun, 12 January 2025 at 4:43 AM

I'm on my way to try something, but I'd like to get some feedback on the usefulness of what I'm trying to do: I'm a new posette convert (?? is that the right word?), after having Stephanie and V3 for a while, I surely enjoy the simplicity and beauty (and rendering-time friendliness) of the P4 woman, specially with all the morphs available (particularly yamato's)... I have a lot of different posettes (from the Aioli & Mazziri to Posette 2003) and a lot of times I take morphs from one of them into the other, but this is time consuming... I plan on using The Tailor to make a single posette which has all the morphs from the other posettes... so, what i would have to do, is load a posette cr2, then load another posette as a dress, and transfer the morphs to her, then save her as a different file... then load another posette, load the previously saved posette with the new morphs added, and add more morphs to her... and repeat this process until I have one posette with all the morphs from the others... is this actually useful or am I just wasting my time?

Some of the morphs can be brought over just with Morph Manager. Its the ones with different mesh that will be the toruble. FOr example Posette 2003 uses modified mesh. Also, many models (like eve) have edited joint parameters

Most morphs can be transferred with Morph Manager (what a useful program that is!) but I would query the usefulness of burdening one cr2 with the whole lot. Generally I carry over a small bunch of favourites from one figure to another, and load others on an "as needed" basis. Would that as many morphs were available for Vicky, especially as regards face morphs.

Posette is still a real babe in my book! Especially because she has tons of great clothes (that most people have either forgotten about- or newbies have never seen) and with newer rendering techniques and texture maps, can look amazingly good. Also try V2-P4 if you have V2. Great way to combine lots of clothes, faces, etc. I use M2-P4 quite a lot also for the same reasons as stated above.

hey veritas, I do have v2p4 and m2p4, iw as just saying that render-wise, I prefer posette over any fancier models, specially now that, as you say, you can make posette as good, if not better, than many rendered vickies... I guess I'll follow phantast's lead and I won't overload one posette with all the morphs... that would make her as heavy as a V3 with all head and body morphs applied... well, not quite, but close enough. thanks for the input.

A while back Macmullen created a morphed out version of V2P4 but nothing for Mike.

Is there a really good morph head set for P4 Fem? I have my homemade ones with some old Traveler and Bushi stuff added loaded to the head remapped to the P4 texture for building characters. The Staale and Ultramorph had some good stuff but was more characters per se. Is there a definitive P4 counterpart to the V2 .cr2 in regards to character creation head morphs? The best Full Body Morphs I have found are Staale and Eve4 which is something else I guess.

Travelers entire collection covers almost every aspect of morphing on the Poser4 figures heads, alas, I believe they are now only available on CD. (bandwidth issues I think)

I still think yamato made the most ellaborate head morph for the P4... I mean, he turned posette from a plastic looking doll to a realistic asian woman!! of course, if you don't like asian women maybe this is not that great to you, but I'm mostly referring to the fact of making something really gorgeous out of something that, by default, is absolutely not.

Don't forget to visit Duane's toybox for a good selection of morphs and character heads. I'd also recommend Traveler's CD if you want to use Posette a lot.

Also, if you explore the characters available from Animotions, you can find all sorts of nice morphs tucked away in some of those cr2 files.

weeeshh... i wanna apologize for my misinformation.... Yamato didn't do any morphs to posette... I think... what he modified was the regular Vicky 1... so all the time I was talking about the beautiful asian posette, it was just a beautiful asian vicky... sorry again

Au contraire - Yamato has done several beautiful Asian Posettes - Mimi, Linlin, Ranran, Miyou... TenTen is a Vicky mod.
