Tjohn...Its all to do with the apples. Olde Englishe custom to assure a good crop in the following year. One makes offerings of cake, toast and cider to whatever deity may or may not lurk in ones apple grove. It is neccessary to liberally partake of the cider oneself, of course, while making these offerings. In other words, just one more excuse for a seasonal p**s-up.

The greatest part of wisdom is learning to develop  the ineffable genius of extracting the "neither here nor there" out of any situation...."

  • What actor provided the voiceover for the animated version of 'Frosty the Snowman'? -- Depends, the narrator was Jimmy Durante, but the actual voiceover for Frosty was Jackie Vernon. -Name the song, now a yuletide favorite, that was written for the 1951 film, 'The Lemon Drop Kid' starring Bob Hope? That would be "Silver Bells" -What's the Scoorge's first name? Ebenezer -Which reindeer is not mentioned in the 'Night Before Christmas'? Rudolph (who wasn't invented for a few years yet) -Which of the Great LAkes is entirely within US borders? Lake Michigan -How many US States begin with the letter 'M'? Maine Mississippi Missouri Montana Minnesota Michigan -What was the name the Cisco Kid's horse? Diablo (I think) -Who performed with Billy Joel in the Baby Grand', Elton John, or Ray Charles? Ray Charles

Could be worse, could be raining.
