I am new to the forum, can anyone explain about DAZ studio? Is it about figure creation or real 3D rendering system? Where are the packages made from - local or international?

D|S is Daz3d's upcoming Poser-killer. Unlike Poser, D|S uses OpenGL hardware acceleration, real-time lighting and texture effects, plus it's based around an expandable plug-in structure, allowing 3rd party plugins to be developed for it. No word on any modeling capabillity, tho. Simply a better rendering app for Daz's incredible models. Oh, and it's FREE. Not released yet, tho everybody wants it BAD. Daz is based out of Utah, btw...

Studio is an imitation Poser - it can't load Poser 5 compressed files and its material room is virtually the same as Poser 4 and vastly inferior to Poser 5. Studio can't do morph creation. Studio doesn't have a face room. It may render slightly better than Poser 4 but it don't come close to the quality of Poser 5 firefly render. When Studio grows up it may know what it wants to be!
