Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 10 10:00 pm)
You need to make the centers in the joint parameter windows the same and slowly it will uncrumple. This factoid was gleaned from a tutorial on conforming clothing by Nerd. Nerd's tutorial mentions how things may "ball up" when you first conform them and when you adjust them, they smooth out to where they were supposed to be. http://www.nerd3d.com/Tutorial/Conforming.htm Hope this helps.
heyas; er... i'm afraid not :/ i read that... and that's why i plugged the obj into the horse's cr2, to get all the centers exactly the same. i still had to move the hip centers down from where they were, and that got the piece to sit vertically correct. but anyway, the point is, i can't make the centers more matched, because... they're all exact copies to start with. :/ maybe i need to put the endpoint up in the tail or something... but i don't want to start messing with the jps and making things worse. ::sigh::
When "hi-jacking" CR2s, it seems to be a good idea to position the clothes obj to the figure's obj instead of the figure as loaded from the library. Briefly you: o Bring the clothes obj into Poser and group, according to the intended figure (naming the groups as in the intended CR2, and all that) o Bring the figure's OBJ (e.g. horse.obj) into Poser (all opts off, no sixing or moving!) o Size and position the clothes obj as closely as possible to the figure obj o Export the OBJ o Copy the figure's CR2, and point it at the clothes obj Good luck, thip
but but but but but....! actually, i imported the horse into rhino to do the draping, and exported the blanket so it was in position. then i put the blanket INTO the horse's cr2 and saved it new. i mean, how much closer to the original horse cr2 can i get than to change the horse cr2 obj ref file to point to the blanket? :) the only thing i changed was: i took out the horse mouth parts prop i have in my horse, and i used morph manager to delete all the horse morphs. i'll mess with it one more time, but if you wanna play with it, viomar, you are more than welcome! ;)

heyas; okay, this two-facing of the horse blanket isn't working any way i try it, so... forget that. now, i plugged the horse blanket obj into the horse cr2, which should give it everything exactly the same as the horse, all the jps etc. and it does, it works just like a horse. until i conform it... it gets a little twisted up. so, okay, i fixed the center of the hip so it fits right... but the spine twists at the hips and abdomen. nerd, steve... anybody! what do i do to fix that?? (it was working better before :/ )
