Does anyone know how to fix a figure that you have made yourself that has black bits in it? I think the black bits are caused by a problem in the normals.

You can use the grouping tool to select and flip them.

Its not reversed normals, they are black and strange looking.

You may have some polygons with more than four sides. Poser sometimes takes a dislike to them. Open the model in UVMapper and in the Tools select Degenerate, or/and/concave/collinear. If that was the problem then this should fix it.

Here are some other possibilities. Black Facets, which typicqally are found along the rendered edges of models, also are found in other spots when a non-trianglulated polygon(square) is folded into a unusual shape that causes a render error. Nendo and Wigns have "Flatten Normal" for it. Or smoothing helps. Black Polygons are also caused by irregulal stitching where two or more non-adjacent polygons are accidently connected. In this image I duplicated and rotated the mesh four times and highlighted the same irregular polygon on each to show the odd contour. This can cause a dark render spot. This exaample is most often found in over morphed faces. But again. In wire mode, look for a line , illegally connecting the black polygon to another not next to it. Regards, Anton

When ProPack first came out, there was a lot of problems with black polys when the grouping tool was used. I don't have ProPack and don't remember the details or the fix.
