I guess alot of us will be in the Daz Studio Forum here after tomorrow. Since Xmas is a holiday weekend it should be out within 24 hours I would think. lol You ever notice everything big at Daz always happens right before everyone leaves for a few days. lol God bless them for being able to sleep at night. hehe I jusy hope they are forth coming with information. After 6 years of Poser I really don't have another 6 years to figure everything out by experimentation. I'm hoping for rough documentation at the very least. I can't imaging it would not have any instructions at all but then again....(crosses fingers). Regards, Anton "so it begins" - King Theoden, LOTR The Two Towers

mmmm not a PCLub member no mo' and gone til Jan 1 ahhhh the sweet bliss of no computer and something called books. The only dial spinning I'll be doing is with the oven. I'm still interested in D|S, but really it's just an alpha and after being a betatester for many years in production environments, alpha aint all that. Guess I'll get to come back next week to a thousand posts on how D|S is. Have fun with it.

Oh the irony, the irony! Cliff Bowman, hoping the DS documentation is better than DAZ's usual, but not holding my breath at still pre-Alpha stage.

Cliff!!! At least I write readme's for the stuff I make. Most people don't even do that. :) Wasn't my job to write for the broker stuff. lol Backstory: CLiff and I had a long debate about Cliff thinking my readme's were too vague. :P hehe

The newsletter takes a few days to finish mailing out to everyone. I am sure they wanted it out to everyone before it went live.

And me with in-laws coming over on Christmas day! :(

cherokee69 ( ) posted Wed, 24 December 2003 at 12:49 PM

Does anyone really think DAZ is going to release this right before Christmas..especially waiting this long in the day and they won't be around for support during Christmas break?

"At least I write readme's for the stuff I make." I truly apprecited the historical garb info you inlcluded with the Rulers of Egypt clothing, Anton. IMO that sort of thing really does enhance one's experience of the item. The guy who did the DAZ Antelope Expansion Pack (apologies for not remembering his name, I'm not at my home computer as I type this) also included some fascinating info about the species represented in the set. Cherokee, you raise a good point, but the fact is, DAZ has said that they won't be offering telephone or e-mail support for the app (at least while it's in alpha/beta.) The only support I'm aware of would be whatever responses and bug reporting we'll get in the Studio forums at their site, so ultimately it doesn't much matter if they're around while we experiment on our own for a few days. My concern is that nobody will be there if the servers break down, but at this point we've all become accustomed to waiting, waiting, waiting... :-) Dean

Brianb over at DAZ said a few hours ago that they were going to release it today, so I'm taking them at their word. I hope they have fire extinguishers handy for their servers! ;-)

Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.
