Bill, On initial run DS prompts you for the drives to scan so it will know where the 'runtime' folder is. I put this on an Intel P4 mb/proc system and did not have any problems as far as startup running, but I only instructed DS to search the 'H' drive which is the only drive that I have the Poser 4 runtime folder in. Perhaps you have a backup of the runtime folder on another drive, a corrupted download, did you installed with an Av running or perhaps running Ds with an AV running. You could try uninstall/reinstall on DS and selecting the only drive to be scanned that has your 'working' Poser 4 runtime folder on it. HTH and Merry Christmas BabaLouie

Hello and Merry Christmas, Just got home from a long Christmas eve at work (retail) and downloaded the .exe file. I ran the file and when it ask to scan the drives for files, I clicked okay. Then when it launched, I got the hourglass on my mouse and then it went away. I restarted my computer and tried again. Same thing, Studio starts up, I get the scene, but the pointer stays on the "hourglass" for about ten seconds then the program closes. Anyone else have this problem?? Correction: (long day) the first time it launched after install, it just froze up and then closed. No hourglass I still haven't gotten it to launch. I have a P4, with plenty of ram and all that, so I don't know what could be the problem. Got to go to sleep before Santa gets here. Bill
