Subject: For those interested in Z-tooning...

We might need to wait for a bit. ;) This is what I got on my first attempt (entire figure Z-scaled to 14% with one light, eyes had to be manually inserted back into the head). Hopefully we won't have to worry about using Z-tooning at all if a decent toon rendering mode is added to a later version of DAZ Studio though. If not, I'll be sure to come up with some weirdo way to do it anyway. ;) SnowS

for Z-tooning type stuff, is D|S even really needed at all? What would be the difference? I'm not being smart, really wondering and don't know enough about it to tell

Hey Snow- I was posting my above thread EXACTLY when you were posting YOURS! I would have posted in yours had I seen it first!

Haha, no problem Veritas...looks like you found a very good way to do it anyway. :) I was just trying to do it entirely in D|S with no PZ3, but your way seems like a fine start considering the alpha state that it's in. Farside: you're right, there probably won't be much difference between a sucessful Z-toon in Poser or D|S. I was just seeing if it could be done in it's present state, and also for future users who only buy Daz Studio and not Poser. It's probably quite likely that DAZ will implement a better cartoon shader than Poser has, partially because they are in fact selling many figures that would take advantage of such a renderer (Koshini, Sara, Aiko, etc.). Thanks, take care. SnowS

Look how CLOSE this gets to Cel Shade- yet its still a 3D look as well. Imagine if this was "Z'ed"! HEH! (---Link To Renderer That Daz Studio uses---) Looks like were headed for Toon City with DS!

Check out these samples. Same Renderer as DAZ STUDIO Has!
