Poser Python Scripting F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Sep 18 2:50 am)

We now have a ProPack Section in the Poser FreeStuff.
Check out the new Poser Python Wish List thread. If you have an idea for a script, jot it down and maybe someone can write it. If you're looking to write a script, check out this thread for useful suggestions.

Also, check out the official Python site for interpreters, sample code, applications, cool links and debuggers. This is THE central site for Python.

You can now attach text files to your posts to pass around scripts. Just attach the script as a txt file like you would a jpg or gif. Since the forum will use a random name for the file in the link, you should give instructions on what the file name should be and where to install it. Its a good idea to usually put that info right in the script file as well.

I think this script, which already exists, will serve. It's not fully automatic, but it will let you isolate the left or right half of a MT.

To split a prop, the Grouping tool by itself should work..... no Python needed.

I have see the Grouping tool but i don't have see any option for split a props (mirror effect)

Well, the Grouping tool doesn't split automatically, but you can use it to select one side, then Spawn Prop. This won't work if the mesh isn't built right.... if the facets aren't divided at the centerline, there's nothing you can do about it.

Ockham? Did you take your zip down? Just tried and got a 404. Also, could you use this to add morphs to hair? Without having to add magnets? And if you create groups then run the script, does the script pick up the groups so that you can choose one and work on it? And...will it work on .hr2, not just .cr2? This would be so great because I'm always wanting to add morphs to hair and can't always get what I want with magnets.
