I agree...more textures for existing characters and packages and some restructuring of the pricing of older models. The "clubs" are neat, but pricey to join. And...I think that if they're going to advertise something as free, IE the DAZ Engine, it should be free, not require a membership fee to get it. If you require prepayment of any sort for elligibility, it aint free. But, free is worth what ya pays fer it, doncha know!
I feel the same way about having more clothing and textures for existing models, but I voted for the MilDog. I'd really like to see a lot more millenium animals in the future, but maybe that's just me. BTW, apparently Dodger is working on a project to transfer morphs between unimesh characters. He also created a She-Freak figure and Puck, a younger male, both which are unique figures from the unimesh. I didn't vote for V4 because I have no gripes about her versatily. As much as I adore M3, I would like to see some changes to the face through the brow, eyes, and nose region. Maybe Anton will make a morph pack for him ;)
Daverj.. good comment.. I'd MUCH rather see some fixes and updates to current characters and addons. You'll see the occasional service update, but IMHO changes that correct existing product should be "new" characters. Shoulder fixes would be a GREAT start. some expression addons that are freebies would be nice. Instead of a freebie "prop" every week, how about expanding the characters we've bought, instead of milking us for more moola? And lower the price on old stuff that doesn't sell often anymore. Not for a "club" membership.. for the general public.
Way too many people take way too many things way too seriously.
Papa, I actually don't own M3. Sorry. :(

I guess DAZ must have really discounted all of the effort that you put into your projects if they didn't give you a copy of M3 to at least tinker with. Its a shame really because the M3 and V3 head packs were sold for the same price but with different numbers of morphs. And I think that a lot of the morphs that you did were the most appealing. I like M3, but there is a problem with the eye-brow-nose region that does tend to make him look a little too girly. You can dial the morphs to make him look good looking straight on, but if you turn his head to the side he does look a little off (ie girly).
I'd like to see some more work on those Poser 1 characters. Man they blew Vickie and Mike away big time. Plus they had smooth and rough shading and they saved soooo much ram. You could render like 4000 of them in one scene and not get a lock up. And forget about clothes. You could just paint them right on post work so how they fit was up to your skill level. Same with the faces. Who needs eyes, nose and a mouth when you can use your imagination and create literally any face you wanted. That's what really sets a true artist apart from some lazy dolt who renders, renders, renders. Sure enough, you young punks don't know what you're missing with Poser 1 figures. They're coming back I tell ya. Just you wait and see.

I agree with Mason. The low-poly figures where abandoned but had a lot going for them. With some tweaking on the mesh and some joint corrections they where, and are, still great figures. That's evolution. Everything just has to be bigger . But is it always for the better? The ones shown are the P4-Lo figures. Tony

I voted for more Steph stuff. Which is, really, more stuff for existing figures since she's now an existing figure. I really, really like Steph. I like her a lot more than Vicky. I think her proportions are a lot better, and she poses better, too. If she could just wear Vicky's clothes, I'd be happy as a clam at high tide. :-D

I go along with most of the sentiments here. It would be nice to see more creatures and better use of the existing Millennium models. I don't know what could be done with V4 that would be a signficant enough increase in capabilities over V3 to warrant purchasing a new version of Victoria. Even though I've got V3 and M3, I'm still mostly using V2 and M2 because I have more stuff for the older characters. I'd hate to see new Millennium figures being cranked out the way Microsoft cranks out new versions of Office where the primary incentive to upgrade is compatibility more than features. I rather doubt that older products will receive makeovers from DAZ. That's probably more a Poser community project. BL Render did a remap of the lion (link above). It wouldn't surprise me if the Raptor and T-Rex have been remapped by somebody.I agree with the above suggestions. But let me add that also i would like to see more characters from greek mythology. Specifically, a high quality cyclops and satyr. Also peasant clothing for greece and other ancient mediterranean peoples. I love to look at the fancy costumes, but there must also be ordinary people for scenes. Also greek gods. There are a lot of greek temples out there-- great -- but not much to put around them, or in them. Other mideastern gods too. Also, i would like to see "primitive" dwellings like thatched huts that people in africa or the south pacific would use. One of the great things about 3d models is that they have the potential to build ancient worlds and the literature there is rich! So much of the history of western art involved ancient mythology and history, I would love to see more of what poser could do with these themes. Medieval and dungeons and dragons, sci fi are great, but the 3d community could do a lot more with ancient themes. That may be the new frontier for artists who like to dip into history.
Randym77: you might want to double check. I think there were kilts of a sort way back, sort of like a belted nightshirt, a "tunic," but not tartan if you mean plaids associated with clans. I would be interested in what you find out.I'd have to look it up but I think I read this in a book with a title something like The Invention of Tradition. The kind of garment (tunic)I am thinking of was pretty widely worn in europe, though, and some versions I think are worn by like Mayan peasants even today. It was pretty fundamental for centuries. One version was sort of like you describe, with one shoulder untied. Common working men also wore simply a strip of cloth around the hips, with weights to make them drape, and we could use these in poser scenes too! Catlin: I dont know what they wear in Glasgow, but sure ancient costumes have persisted regionally and as novelties. By ancientI was not being technical, but only refering to common dress prior to medieval times. Of course ancient dress and customs survived alongside newer styles even into modern times. My point was mainly that we would be enriched with more costumes and living structures from antiquity and tribal people to work with.
You have the Grecian Dresses Michael Lane made at Daz?

Pj, I'm not joking here. I live in Glasgow, W Scotland, and there are some folks who actually wear the ancient style of Celtic clothing you are refering to. They are so into the old ways that they live just north of the city in a little community, sort of new age style and only come to the city for supplies and to meet up with friends. It is really amazing to see, a real blast from the past. 8) Catlin

DAZ is polling visitors what they want to see next and the runaway winner (twice as many votes over V4 and Mil Kids 3) is more clothing and textures for the existing characters. I feel the same way. I'd rather make better use of what I've got than start all over with a new model that will be somewhat obsolete a year later by the next generation model. Eventually, there will be a 4th generation of Millennium figures. I really hope that DAZ finds a way to make the new set of characters more interchangeable so that morphs can be transferred between all the characters and ideally allow clothing to be moved amongst all the characters more readily than now. Some of those wishes are more easily said than done. It will take something special to make me want to jump to the next generation of characters. Extra versatility is one of the things to nudge me into a new series of figures.
