Forgot the nudity flag... Anyway her thighs deform VERY badly in extreme poses like this. Is it a problem with the way the joints were setup with the model, or what? Is there a fix for this other then post work? (Something that can be saved with the model, so it does not occur every time you pose her like this.) I don't recall seeing another model have this problem so badly. It also looks like it creates hell with the catsuit as well...

damn you for forgetting the nudity flag!!..lol..that definitely looks like the creator needs to do a fix...

You can try fiddling with the joint falloff zones to see if you can alleviate it a bit. This is very similar to M3 clothing groin problems I have seen, on my stuff I control it two ways, with a thigh joint controlled morph and with another user controlled morph on the buttock group, neither of which are easy to setup. I suggest you contact Neftif about this.

Don't bend the "buttock" ... ... bend the "thigh" ... ... then it should work ok. cheers. dr geep ;=]

No You have to bend both! Try Butt @ -29 and Thigh @ -55

I'll try that, sirkrite

It is quite hard to make joints that work perfectly for any figure, I know I have tried a few times...

xantor is correct ... and Neftoon Gal's work as good as any of 'em. ;=]

I have noticed that she is not real receptive to poses made for other characters. By this I mean some poses for Vicky work on Posette, vice-versa and etc., with some modifications...but with most pre-set poses Neftoon Gal justs tears apart when I apply them. Can't wait for Schlabber's English version tutorial on posing to come out.

Looking at the sawtooth artifact on the thigh, I'm wondering if this is a case where the modeller didn't match up the polygons on both sides of a seam. Meaning that one side might be more highly subdivided than the other side.

Neftis actually called me FROM SWEDEN with assistance. She recommends playing with the joint parameters arond the hips... just DON'T CHANGE THE CENTER!!!!!!!!! Here's a WIP of what I'm working on, BTW...

I am glad to see you are still coming up with creations for her, Gareee. I fail to understand why more people aren't doing things for her yet, she has been on the market for awhile now and seems to be popular. Is this pack you are working on now going to be available only at the Polymage site, or in other stores as well? Or am I jumping the gun and it is too soon for even you to know? ;P

sirkrite ( ) posted Fri, 09 January 2004 at 4:35 AM

That looks like some pretty cool stuff for her Gareee. :)

I'll probably sell it at polymage, and maybe rendervisions, since they need the support. I've never sold anything here yet, amight look into that as well, but I want people to have a reason to visit Neftis's site more often.. she's SUCH a sweety! Glad you guys like the stuff. what I did was make much of it seperate props, so you can load JUST a helmet, or also load ear discs, antenna, top lights, shoulder lights, neck ring seal, wings, armand leg bands, ect. So many times we grab parts from many characters to achieve a result, and I thought it would be nice to have them all in one pack of some sort. I also have a pile of head morphs sitting on my HD I might just include in the package as well. And then once I get that problem resolved with the tinkerbell dress, that set will be done as well.. it's been virtually done for 3-4 weeks now.. with the exception of that one problem. One thing I'm not sure about.. I don;t really think all these props need UV maps... the dress does, of course, and the helmets, maybe, but the smaller props are all color by multiple materials, and for mechanical things like this, I think that should offer plenty of variety. I'll also do some maps for the catsuit as well...

Well they really don't need detail textures, they should look Toonish. Heck! NefToon Gal is a toon after all. :)

Gareee ( ) posted Fri, 09 January 2004 at 4:25 PM

Yep, but I wanted them to also be usable for other characters, if you wish. I'll conform them, and might convert them to Koshini, and Sara once I'm done with the NG versions...
