I am new to this and love the fractals, what programs/software is used to produce them?

There are lots of great fractal programs out there. I use Vchira, Dust Fractals and Apophysis, for most of my work. Vicky (my wife) uses Chaoscope, Apophysis and Mind Boggeling Fractals for most of her work. All I can say is try one until you find one that clicks for you. I mean what use is a fantastic program if you can't figure out how to use it or your just not comfortable with it? Look farther back in the forum and there are links mentioned to several good sites for freeware ( my favorite kind). William/paragon5

Many artists here put a note on their images telling what program they used to make that image. You should look through the gallery and see what software is being used on images that YOU like! If there is no note, you send the artist an IM and ask, most of us enjoy talking about our art :) Tres

Fractals will always amaze me!

I would recomend ulrafractal 3 and Apophysis. Apophysis is free. Ultrafractal isn't but there is a demo version.

I have the demo version of Ultra Fractal 3.04, and I enjoy it. Only thing I didn't like is that when you save a image outside of the fractal program file, it has "Evaluation Copy" all over it, makes it hard for editing the final in Adobe. I will check out Apophysis. I guess you can say I love new art forms. ^^ (I am new to fractaling.)
