Rule of thumb... Import the .obj file you are morphing from the root folder into max ( be sure not to move it from its original axix whithin Max) then you can apply whatever modifications you want. just be sure to save the new creation as some thing other than the original .obj file hope that helps some... Cant even get that far. Once I extract the plugins to the appropriate folders in Max, I try to launch the program. Max wont open. Says the plug-ins are out of date (lists the ones I just unzipped). Which baffles me cause the dates are newere than the ones that came with the program and they're for my current version of Max (which is 2.0). So importing aint the problem, it's getting the plugins to work. That's why I mentioned the workaround. dave
That is certainly odd, I've had no problems with the HABware plugins at all for MAX2.5, I just select from the geometry folder and import. Do you have the correct plugins? (The fact that the date is newer makes me think this). If they are the HABware plugins for MAX2.0, the only thing I can think of is contacting HABWare directly - they may know of this and have a fix for it. Paul
the 3ds option didn't work well for me. Must be sure that any Plugin for MAX is for your version! Can't have one made for v1 or v3 with v2, v2.5 I know there was a bug in v2 with some plugins. Might want to udate to 2.5! I know v3 of Harb's plugs are better at it! And you did put the "Obj2Max.dli" in the Plugins dir, Not the stdplugs dir? I'm out of ideas!! Hope this Helps! Marc

I've tried to no avail to use Habware's plug-ins to import OBJ files into Max. If I export from Poser a 3DS file and import into Max, make my morph target, export as 3DS again, then convert that to OBJ. Is Poser going to be able to read that ok. Or is it going to pull a fit on me? Dave
