I've been working on this for the last few days...actually rebuilding it, since I lost the original a looooong while back. Rendered, it is of absolutely no use, but when printed in silhoutte and cartoon modes and then traced by hand, it has provided me with a very good start for drawing generic female anime figures. The neck and lower head were grouped and then made invisible to make it easier to draw the anime neck (which you have to do manually). The chest is in Cartoon w/ Line mode to show the breast curve. I was wondering if someone would be willing to make a "face-flattening" morph (assuming there isn't one already), which would completely smooth the eyes, brows, nose, and mouth (a noears morph has already been made). Once that is done, I plan on making a texture map with guidelines for drawing the anime features on (such as center lines, eyelines, etc). I could host the morph too (as long as it's not gigantic), so others could download it if you like. Once it's complete, I'll strip all unnecessary morphs and post it, assuming there's any desire to have this figure. Sorry for the long post...thanks for your time. :) SnowS Hoping his pictures are worth 1001 words.

I use the trace technique too on more complicated poses and have a special "overblown" model made just for this purpose. I use this technique as a trainer though meaning I try and stear away from it when possible so I learn how to draw. You may want to do the samething with eyes and such and force yourself to do the drawing. One other thing. This technique can be really bad for anime. Anime is extremely fluid. Poser figures are very stiff. If I were going to do this with anime I may just pose the figure on screen then draw from the screen as a reference only. Just my 2 cents.

This figure was designed as a time-saver more than anything else. I drew figures fairly well before Poser came along, but now I can do it in a fraction of the time. And although Poser figures are a bit stiff as you said, when modified properly and with a little smoothing on the artist's part, they can do the job. If you can pose a figure on-screen and draw it using only that as a reference, you either have a lot of spare time or are one talented artist. :) SnowS
