Well here we go ... haven't really changed anything but wanted to present another shot to critique him. This is a basic poser render. Trying to see if I need to make him more feminine which some people said I did. Just want to get him right. Let me know what you think

REALLY nice! But do you think tied-back hair works? I seem to remember it was always "flowing in the wind" and stuff. maclean

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Sat, 02 September 2000 at 6:31 PM

Sorta kinda ...I wish I had a decent hair that would work better but I don't unfortunately ..None of them that are out there work well.

maclean ( ) posted Sat, 02 September 2000 at 7:36 PM

hey, this hair's great! I just don't think it's strictly by the book...but I'm just being picky. as mick jagger says "you cain't always git what you want..." maclean

Okay, now I can see him better! Only thing I can say is maybe the mouth is a little too thin. Other than that, yes, I like this. As to hair, do you have Vickie's flip hair? It works very well on a Poser Male. And on the first post, I don't think that I mentioned that the textures on the clothing is excellent! Liz Pope Dreamspinner Inc.

Dreamspinner ... Told you he was pretty Winks That is why I was was kinda loathe to make him even more feminine ... I have the flip hair but it seemed a little too hairsprayed for him ...Tried it but it ddn't work that well ... And thanks ... This is just a quickie render without bump maps or half the textures but thanks maclean .. All too true ...especially since I am not a from-scratch modeller ....

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Sun, 03 September 2000 at 12:26 PM

Are you using the texture map and trans map from Zygote on the Flip Hair? That one's not very good. The only reason I bought this model is because I knew that Kozaburo had already done a texture and transmap for it. I use his maps exclusively now. I might be able to color swap out the black on the map for blondish shades.... Liz

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Sun, 03 September 2000 at 12:53 PM

Dreamspinner .. I have the Zygote one, the one that kozaburo did and the one I did. Have a nice red head one ... The hair itself is a little too poofy/hairspraiyed for what I want to do here ...

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Sun, 03 September 2000 at 2:47 PM

Oh, well, I've just used it several times on a guy and liked the effect. Hard to find transmapped hair for a guy (if you want a man with long hair, which I do). How does the red one look? Liz

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Sun, 03 September 2000 at 3:48 PM

Hate poofy moussed or sprayed hair on guys from the ancient time ... Doesn't really work that well for me ... Want long hair as well .. probably will end up painting it somewhat ... Here is the red ... Or at least one of them. The teaser has a brighter view of this particlar red .. http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=13271&Start=1&Sectionid=0&Form.Search=sorrow Or search for "Sorrow" in the gallery if that doesn't work ..

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Sun, 03 September 2000 at 6:21 PM

Yes, I liked both the image and the hair! Could I get that map from you? It's just me, I'm an 80's Metal Child. Pretty guys with big puffy, long hair with a gallon of hair spray on it!!!! : ) You might look at some of the recent hair that Vairesh is working on. Something that he's doing might do the trick. Liz Pope

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Sun, 03 September 2000 at 8:39 PM

I liked a lot of the 80'smetal stuff but could never do that to an elf :) ... Not sure if the hair will be done or not for me ... I can always draw it though. And thanks .. Not sure if I could give that hair since most of it is Kozaburo's .. will look into it though and ask him. Later

Ahhh, come on, a Heavy Metal Elf! Yeah! Well, Dio's first band was called Elf. Liz Pope Dreamspinner Inc.

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Sun, 03 September 2000 at 11:17 PM

Sorry Shudders And Dio has never been known for his poofy hair anyway Grins Yeah he may have a lot of I but it isn't utterly gelled, sprayed and moussed until it sticks up My elf .. so there Sticks my tongue out

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Mon, 04 September 2000 at 1:40 AM

That's cool, each to their own! I love puffy hair, witness my favorite band, Motley Crue, the kings of the Shagg-do! But, for this fellow here, nice, long flowing hair of flaxen gold, loose and silken like the spider web. Now, that's is going to be a tall order in the 3D world. Liz Pope Dio was known for his medieval clothing and themes both in music and stage. I was lucky enough to see the Sacred Heart tour where the whole stage was a huge mechanical dragon coiled around a castle. In the middle of the show he did battle with the beast with a lighted sword. Talked to road crew. The dragon was capable of 15 movements, however, they had technical problems at our show and only had 4 movements working. Still, it was one of the most fabulous stages I've ever seen!

I know S And that is where I will probably be drawing it ... I am an illustrator byt trade anyway S Never seen a show but I know his work pretty well ..Also know he had elaborate stage shows with swords and such though for the most part th only experience I saw him in was the video ..

Dreamspinner ( ) posted Mon, 04 September 2000 at 9:22 AM

There is a video of the Sacred Heart tour. I'm still trying to find a copy. You might want to get the new public beta of Eyecandy, it's got a fantastic fur plugin! It's doing great hair. I've only messed with it a couple of times, but I see the potential. Liz

Ghostofmacbeth ( ) posted Mon, 04 September 2000 at 9:37 AM

Cn't use it at home but will see about using it at work ...I have no problem painting or drawing hair though ..
