THE PLACE FOR ALL THINGS BRYCE - GOT A PROBLEM? YOU'VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

Subject: Fed-Up and Frustrated with Poser to Bryce Hair!

I'm soo close, but yet so far away. Many of you have helped with my Poser/Bryce education. However, I've hit a wall. I've created some wonderful landscapes in Bryce, and have created some wonderful poses for Mike M2. But Once I import my Mike m2 or horses with manes, I get the old helmet head of hair. I've tried every tutorial I can find, and I'm not getting any closer. I'm going mad. Does any one have any solutions, suggestions, special tutorials that may help? Please... Thanks, mmajor

You're not trying to import dynamic hair, are you? That's really not doable.

Much more bother, but ultimately possible, with a great effort. Difficult and so on...

Take a look around the galleries, and you'll see that many, many people do just fine with Poser to Bryce. There are cool workarounds, and transparency-mapped hair can look excellent if done properly... Don't give up just yet, but you CAN kiss dynamic poser hair goodbye!

I think Lunariad has a mat called 'brown hair' (someone does, for sure), I've seen red hair..but you're right..some of my models have looked a bit alien coming into Bryce. I've had a little luck with wooden textures (go figure..;) you might try that..Tony Lynch at Tony Lynch Associates has all the wood anyone would need..

That's unlikely to work very well, because of the grain of the wood isn't always going to follow the UV map of the hair model. I've started making tests with handpainting hair textures for non-transmapped hair and the results are not too bad, though I'm not an expert at painting textures. The original question was also posed in the Poser forum - I trust it's now been answered satisfactorily.
